Week 40 Challenge - Autumn Crafting, Polkadoodles and Studio 12

Happy Friday everyone!

Before we get to this week's challenge we have an important announcement to make....

Design Team Call!

...we are looking for someone who ADORES using Digi images to join our fantastic new Design Team! So if you are a digi geek like the rest of us here then please email us to apply. You MUST have an active blog and be able to commit to one project a week. We don't care what brand of marker you currently use or if you love to use watercolours or anything else - we just need someone who loves using digi stamps and is able to meet the commitment which will be a minimum of 4 months term. Closing date is 12th October so don't miss this - we have a great team and you will love to be part of it! Send us your blog link and a short bio about yourself and why you'd like to be on the team and why we should pick you - this call is for a BRAND NEW CHALLENGE which will be here on the Polkadoodles and Studio 12 challenge blog on a Tuesday and the team is separate to Polkadoodles and Studio 12. We already have some amazing talent signed up but we need 2 more people to make up the team!

Ok, let's get to the inspiration for this week's challenge - our theme is.... Autumn!

The winner of this challenge will win a £10 voucher to spend in the Polkadoodles store!

As explained last week we have tweaked our challenge rules and we are now picking a RANDOM WINNER each week to get one of our great prizes! We're doing this as a massive thanks to you all for entering each week and we think it's much fairer that everyone gets an equal chance to win some lovely goodies, so from now on, if you enter then you're in the draw! We will still choose our favourite top 3 as well and they will receive a little prize too. IN ADDITION, you can now enter as many challenges as you wish and are no longer restricted to 10!

So our randomly chosen winner for Week 38 is ..... No. 8, Cazzy
Well done, email us to claim your prize!

In addition, the Design Team have picked their favourite Top 3 which are:
No 5, Julie P....No 2 Kate Kennedy and No 22, Sue Bearhouse
Well done everyone! Grab your blinkies from the sidebar!

If you have a Challenge blog with more than 300 Followers and would like a new Sponsor we have a couple of free Sponsorship slots available at Polkadoodles so email us your blog links and what you require and we will consider sponsoring you too!

Ruth - I've decided to make a little scene with a tiny canvas and I've used one of the main pre-coloured images from Bonbon Belles along with the toadstools from Sundae of Seasons.  I printed the toadstool sheet to a quarter of the normal size so that they would be small enough for the scene.  The bunting is made with two cocktail sticks and I coloured some offcuts of card with Promarkers to match the colour scheme!

Shell - For my card this week I have used papers from the Bonbon Belles CD and the image is from the Sundae of Season CD, I cut some spooky shapes to make a little scene on my cameo then I put it all together inking the edges of the papers to define it a little. I always think of Halloween at Autumn time so went with a Halloween card.

JAN - I used a multitude of images from both the 'Sundae of Seasons CD' and the 'Bonbon Belles CD' to create my Autumn scene, together with some cut out fallen leaves for extra embellishments. I inked in the sky behind the scene with distress inks and as we have had such nice weather into the beginning of Autumn this year, I even added some sunshine too!

Anjie For my card I have used papers, images and embellishments from the Bonbon Belles Double CD Collection and from the Sundae of Seasons CD-Rom. I created a background in a graphic program and added some shadows to give depth. I also cut some leaves out separately to add some 3D embellishments to the card.

Lizzie - I made a gift bag with an Autumnal scene on the front. I used a paper from Bonbon Belles for the background, adding houses, characters, brown leaves and fences from the same CD. The apple trees and pumpkins came from Sundae of SeasonsI love Autumn ! I used a die to make the shape of my bag. I used my distress inks around the edges, glittered up the houses with my Stickles, and then added ribbon for the handles. The main part of the bag is a white paper Kraft bag. I just cut it down to fit inside my die cuts ! It was hard to photograph so I have put two pics here for you.

Bev.....  OOOOhh, Autumn my favourite time of year I think, especially the sunny days and the changing colour of the leaves. I used the gorgeous scarecrow digi from Sundae Of Seasons along with the sunflowers which I coloured with my alcohol markers. The fences are from Bonbon Belles this time I printed off the ready coloured images. I laid out my scene on a quick Pan Pastels background then matted and layered it up onto an 8x8 card.

Lucy: For this challenge I used Bonbon Belles and Sundae of Seasons CD Roms. I used the leaves and toadstools from the Sundae of Seasons and the fairy from Bonbon Belles. I apologise for the blurry picture! My puppy chewed the cable for my camera! So I had to take this on my phone! Luckily, Nikky's products are sooo good they even look good blurry! ;)

Kim - I've used BonBon Belles cd for the images - which I've merged together to make a little scene (just love that cute little fox!).  The papers are also from the cd, with some added twine, a button from stash and some Spellbinder die cut leaves.

Hopefully the DT have inspired you to make your project for this weeks challenge and we cannot wait for you to share it with us. Please use Mr Linky to add your details so we can come over and see your project in full.Remember you have until Sunday 13th October noon to enter this challenge.

Now for our challenge for this week and the theme chosen is:

Christmas in July!
Yes, we cardmakers are already thinking of the festive season even though the heat is blistering here in the UK, so get your Christmas stash at the ready and show us your wares!  Our favourite top 3 entries for this challenge will each win a copy of our brand new Christmas collection, Angelberry Christmas, which is just adorable and is worth £11.99!

Lou: for my card, I designed my own mittens template to make a free standing swing card thingy (lol). All the paper, embellies and sentiment are from the Angelberry Christmas CD. When the card is "flat" it will fit in to an A5 envelope.

Kim - My Christmas in July card features a gorgeous digi and papers and sentiment all from the gorgeous 'Angelberry Christmas'!  I've coloured the digi with alcohol pens, added lots of glittery stuff, some ribbon, punched snowflakes and pearls.

Ruth:  It appears that I have broken with tradition this week and gone for the Studio 12 cd - Gingerbread Twist - probably because I was feeling rather peckish and these gingerbread people look scrummy to eat!  All papers and images are from the cd and I've added organza ribbon from my stash.
JAN - I have made a central stepper card using paper and images from the brand new 'Angelberry Christmas' CD. I couldn't resist this little guy - can you see his shiny nose (with a little help from my glossy accents!)

Lizzie- For my card  I used a digi image from the new mini CD Angelberry Christmas I coloured her using promarkers. Papers are from the Gingerbread twist CD. I used my Stickles glitter glue to jazz up the Marianne die cuts of the stars and icicles. boy it sparkles this card !!! Added some gems and voila !!!

I also made this card using the pre-coloured image and embellies this is all from the Angelberry CD. I used the embellies to make banners !!!  Hope you like it !

Shell- For my card this week I have used the gorjuss new Angelberry Christmas cd. I cut a ice skate shape on my cameo, then added a little trim and a flower to finish

So there is our inspiration this week!
You have until 12 noon on Sunday 4th August to enter and good luck!

It's my (Claire P) turn to host the challenge this week and as I do so love my doodling. Please include a doodled border or element in your project.
As it's our birthday we're adding an extra element to our challenge - this has to be a Birthday Card or project for us! Don't forget you have all that candy to win!!

Emma - Hello there, just joining Team A again for the lovely doodled edge challenge. I have used elements from the Sugar Plum Daisy CDROM again...... I just can't stop using this CD, I luuuuurve it so!!!! This little Bee is the BUZZ is he not? I failed on the stashbox stamp element but hey, when I have such a cute little fella like this to craft with, I forgot all about my other stamps.

Anne - I've used papers from the second edition of the Pen and Paper Circle mag and the little sentiment ticket is from the Pretty Tuff CD.

Lucy: This week I decided to go for some lovely bright colours. I used the backing papers from the Sugar Plum Daisy CD Rom and used matching Pro Markers & Flexi Markers to colour in the digi image. I doodled around the edge with a glue pen and then covered in glitter!

Caire P - Since it's my challenge this week I really had to join in with team A (I have recently moved over to B) I have used papers from a free Polka doodles set that came with a crafting magazine recently. Main image from Sundae of Seasons cd, fab fun ladybugs from Sugarplum Daisy cd as is the sentiment tag. With that all important finishing touch, a tad of doodling!

Enfys: A rustic garden sort of card from me this week, image ready coloured from Sundae of Seasons, with some extra blooms cut out and popped on. I added a burlap square, which frayed nicely, so I used a bit of the frayed stuff to make a string bow for the sentiment. Doodled around the edge of the card, and the circle of the image and I was done..... (I forgot about stashbox stamp week, but hey, with images like this, who cares!)

Lisa - 'The Crafting Owl'. Oooh as soon as I saw this challenge I knew it was right up my street! I've used an image from Sugar Plum Daisy and backing papers from Sundae of Seasons.

Doreen:  I've used an image from Sugar Plum Daisy and the backing papers is from Sundae of Seasons and Sugar Plum Daisy. I love to mix the paper.

Ruth:  I love this cute bear template from Paper Boutique Vol 3.  I used the A5 size, cut out all the elements and layered them up with foam pads.  The 'gift' is made with an offcut of card that I've doodled around the edge and added a ribbon bow and a die cut number 1

Fliss: I've used images from the Sugarplum Daisy CD and papers are a mix from there and the Pretty Sweet CD. My doodling was inspired by the leafy Martha Stewart punched border and I did a lot of layering for the final design of my creation.

Daniele, for my card I have used the sweet mouse image from The Sugar Plum Daisy Cd coloured in with Prisma pencils, I have doodled lines around the embossed background to create a frame.

Miria I made a quick easel card for a boy's birthday. I used coloured stampies, paper and sentiment from cd Pretty Tuff.  Easy peasy!

So there's your inspiration - some fantastic projects from the DT this week I think you'll agree! You have until Sunday 3 June at 12 noon GMT to enter the challenge, so just add your URL to the Linky below! Good Luck!
