Now, for the inspiration from the Polkadoodles team this week....

Sandie - I adored the theme for this challenge, CAS, as I seemed to have gone embellishment crazy over the past few weeks and this made a fabulous change :D  I used the super DIY Dave image who can be found in Work and Play 1 CD collection, but also as a Full collection Digital Download and as a Clear Stamp! (just how fabulous is Polkadoodles!  Nikky sure looks after us crafters).  I have coloured him with my Graph'it Marker Pens and added a few 3D touches (an idea first used by our very own Claire Boelema :D So I need to shhh up now and show you my make....
Bev here with my CAS creation, I used the Hollybobs Santa Digistamp, scaled it to the required size in my graphics program me and added my text in the opposite corner printed off then coloured with my Graph'it Markers. I just adore this little fella.

Ashley- For this challeng I used the Bows from the  Festive  Hollybobs  collection. I copied them into my Paint and made each one 80% the size of the first so that they would gradually decrease in size =) Who knew one element could be so much fun! I also cut out the stem and star from the tree in the same  Hollybobs  collection =) If you have any questions feel free to visit my blog and ask =)

Yvonne - For this challenge I used 'Miss Millicent' from the gorgeous 'Rose Budd' Collection, which you can get as a digi download collection or as a CD-Rom. You can also get her as a clear stamp.  I coloured her with my Graph'It Markers - pop over to my blog for details.

Anita - Hi there this has to be one of the hardest cards to do CAS wow the urge too embellish was unreal lol. Today I have used Winston Bear Heart of Gold, which you can get as a digi download collection or as a CD-Rom. I coloured her using Alcohol Markers - For more info visit my blog.

Jenny - Here is my card for the CAS challenge, I have used Festive Holybobs which you can find here. It's a great cd and download and it's one I'll be using for a few years to come. Pop over to my blog and see more details.
Susan - Well for those of you that know me I don't do CAS ,so for the first time ever this is my take on CAS.  I have used  the beautiful Octavia Friendly Hugs Digi printed on water colour paper and coloured with my New Derwent Inktense Pencils .This is my first attempt at using them and boy do I love them .

Frezja - what a challange! For me almost no work to do because I like a lot of details..
I try and try and try and this is the effect.. :) I used sentimental from Pretty Sweet mini CD

Recycle It!
You can Recycle anything you wish - and this can be something as simple as reusing a bit of ribbon!
You have until Friday 14th November  noon GMT to enter. Just please follow the rules in the sidebar. You don't have to use our products to enter!
THE WINNER OF THIS CHALLENGE WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THIS BRAND NEW COLLECTION WHICH IS WORTH £11.99!

Soooo let's see what the team have created for us...

Katie - So what have we all to recycle and update. I have used an old Pen and note holder peg that looked like this

So I used Pretty Tuff CD ROM to make this organiser for a boys desk. Here is the finished project. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with. Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx

Sandie - Wow what a challenge!  For my Recycle It make I used an old photo frame, and used the old fashioned decoupage technique to make a Christmas Count Down Chalk Board!  I used the glorious paper from Festive Hollybobs collection (available as a CD or as a complete digi download collection!) and then I added some of the gorgeous embellishments from the collection too.  I really hope you enjoy my project and if you click on my name and hop over to my blog I have added the full details of how I made it :D  Happy Crafting, Sandie xxx

Anjie -  I've done a few of those word picture for people lately and I take the mount out as I don't use it. So I have a few of these mounts and so thought I would use one of those.
I started by going around the outside with a black marker and then adding a piece of pink card. I then printed out some papers from the Pretty Sweet CD and used the pink one on the mount and the blue one to cut a border and place on the mount. I then coloured in the sweet Amelia Braids image using my Graph'It Markers. I cut out a fence from a Marriane die to sit Amelia on, and the bird house and bird. More details on my blog

Yvonne -Well I was a but stumped for this challenge but my lovely fellow teamies reminded me that I didn't need to overthink this theme. I had a rummage through a few drawers and in my bedside cabinet I found this.
I have no idea what it is or where I got it from, but I thought to myself, I can use this, I'm going to call it gauze ribbon.  I didn't want to make a card for this, so I decided to dig out the tissue paper and make a candle. I simply printed the coloured image from 'Work & Play; Festiv Hollibobs' which is available as a CD-Rom, a digi download collection. If you like the image, she is available as a single digi image or as a rubber stamp.  Once printed onto tissue paper, I cut round the image, laid it onto the candle, wrapped some greaseproof paper round it and used my heat gun.  I then wrapped my found ribbon round the candle and then overlaid some satin red ribbon on top.  I quickly cut a ponsietta out, sprayed it with glitter spray and glued it on.
...and then I found out what it was - it is May Arts Web ribbon from Polkadoodles HERE!! LOL!

Susan - I just could'nt think what to recycle ! anyway I found a tub of yummy Orange biscuits so I made a cup-pa  sat down and ate the lot and this is what I was left with and now the fun begins ...!
I used papers and embellishments from the Festive Hollybobs CD (now available as a download) and the adorable button embellishments and tiny pompom trim are fromThe Polkadoodles Shop.  This is the end product and lots more close-up pictures on my blog....
Sue: This weeks challenge is recycle. I chose to recycle a book as I have always wanted to try one of these. I took an old book and folded all the pages in half then I cover the cover with backing papers  and distressed the. I then decorated it with flowers and tags  and a bow all using the papers from       Winston  and then I added Etty Bear from same cd....

Bev here with my recycled project I picked up an el cheapo clock and gave it a Polkadoodles makeover.....Before....

.....I coloured a digi of Piper with my Graph'it Markers to make the clock face. Details on my blog
I used my distress inks on the edges of all papers & doilies and cut different sizes to add interest to the clock frame. The papers and flowers are from the oh so versatile Winston CD Rom its also available as a digital download HERE

After.....

I think it's certainly brightened up an otherwise rather dull and boring looking clock. I can't wait to see what you all come up with this fortnight.

Jenny here with my project for this recycled challenge. I have used one of the famous IKEA mirrors and made it into a Christmas mirror for my friends granddaughter.
I have used the Festive Hollybobs for the project with one of Nikky's chalkboard stamps. I printed out the backing papers and covered the frame with them. I was going to include the Santa digi  but after getting this far decided he wasn't really needed.  The snow is done with a coarse texture gel and sprinkled with glitter but it doesn't show in the picture, there are more details on my blog.

Frezja - Hi all Kasia here :) Recycling is my middle name so I'm happy and I will show you my mini album made from toilet paper rolls.... :)
Nothing throws ahahah :) Tutorial on how to do this mini can be found on my blog here.
I have used lovely paper from Winston CD :) and the roses from Rose Budd CD
Have a nice day all, :)

Week 40 - Anything but square Polkadoodles Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone!
Before we get started with today's challenge we just have to show you the lovely new digis that are in the store now...
meet Octavia....
Isn't she lovely? You can get her in the store HERE!

Today we start a brand new challenge
Anything Not Square
You have until Friday 17th October to enter at noon GMT. Just please follow the rules in the sidebar. You don't have to use our products to enter!

Sooo let's see what fantastic inspiration the team have created for us...

Jenny - As this week is anything but square I think this will fit the bill, I have promised the girls in work I'd make an Advent Calendar so used the Festive Hollybobs for the backing papers and the little gingerbread men. More details are on my blog.

Sandie - Shaped cards is not my favourite thing (just incase you haven't heard me mention it lol) but I used this times challenge theme to show that the fabulous Festive Hollybobs CD is so versatile that it can make fun cards easier...and trust me, if I can do it anyone can lol :D  All my elements, papers, main image and the shape for the card itself were all taken from the CD!  I just added a couple of little bits from my stash and if you click on my name it will take you to my blog and full details of how I made it...I really hope you like it and I look forward to your Anything but Square entries...happy crafting...Sandie xx

Sue.... hi this challenge is not to make a square card so I made a circle easel card - I have used Claude from Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff....The papers are printed from the same cd. I inked all the edges and I coloured Claude with my copic pens....I also added some card candy to edges and added sentiments also from the same collection...

Yvonne - I opted to use a shaped card blank for this challenge and I have used 'Winston' from the uber special 'Winston Collection'. I went with the great image of Winston sitting in his chair reading his paper. I coloured him with my Graph'It Markers and decided to colour him using the textured effect. A full list of the colours used are on my blog. I distressed the papers, which are also from the collection, added some grosgrain ribbon and perfect pearls. All the embellishments are from the collection.
Susan - .I have used Papers ,embellishments , and one of  the adorable digis from the new  Winston CD
He is coloured with my amazing Graphit Markers ,I cut out a W and made into a 3D object  ,then used all my bits n bobs to embellish it and this is the end result.I do hope you like it,now I cant wait to see your amazing makes .

Katie Good Day Hope that you are having a good week. We have to make a card that isn't square. I have used and old Jigsaw piece for my creation this week. I used Pretty Tuff CD ROM to create my spooky make this week. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with. Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeep Crafting xx

Bev here with my creation for this week. I'm not sure what you call them so I've opted for a 'dangler'. I've used a variety of goodies from Polkadoodles. The heart is a cutting file from Picnix 1 CD Rom covered with backing paper from Pretty Sweet the digi is the adorable Piper coloured with Graph'it's and the flowers are from Nikky's latest collection Winston

Claire C  I'm useless at shaped cards so I've taken the easy optiion and just used a shaped card blank. I've used the adorable Ballerina image from Work and Play 2, she's also available as a digital stamp too (you can find her here). I've coloured her with PanPastels and used some of the gorgeous papers and ephemera from the Rose Budd Collection. The sentiment is also from Work and Play 2 and I've added some little Laser Art corners from Dutch Doobadoo.

Anjie - I have used the Dutch Doobadoo shape art square 15x15cm to create my shaped card. The image is from the Work & Play Festive Hollybobs CD as are the papers. The collection is also available as an instant download too! She is coloured with my Graph'It Markers

Kasia-Frezja - hi all :) For my card I used the cardboard circle, I put cardstock and picture of a snowman from CD Festive Hollybobs . A few flowers, some leaves and card is done :)
Thank you for your attention and have a nice day :) xx

So let's get to the gorgeous challenge inspiration!...

Scatty Jan - For my card today I have used the fantastic Pretty Tuff CD- this is brilliant if you get stuck for boy's cards, I use it tons. The bench, boy (David) and frog were all from the CD and so was the monkey paper that I used in the background and also paper pierced Davids shirt with it. The rest of David was coloured using Graphic Markers , David is also available as a digi on his own xx

Shell-I had a happy accident making this card, I was resizing the paper to print in my editing software then I added the image and it was a png file so it meant I could lay it over the patterned paper and still colour it with my markers..So i left it as it was, and just matted it with some brown cardstock, added some flowers and lace from my stash..I will be doing this again that's for sure. The image and papers are from the Cherry Blossom Lane CD

Bev here with Sally the snail, she's from All Around and Everywhere and can be found in the 'Get in Shape' section she was pretty easy to cut out and assemble too. I just added the backing sheet, glitter and sentiment.

Katie Happy Friday everyone. I love animals and yes they are magic. The wall hanging I made was with Cherry Blossom Lane Wedding sesson is coming and I thought that this would make a lovely cute keepsake for any happy couple.  Have fun and looking forward to seeing your makes on the blog. Keeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx

Anjie - I changed my mind quite a few times before I settled on using the Cherry blossom Lane CD Rom Collection as there are so many gorgeous animals on so many PD CD's. The image, papers, sentiment and trees are all from the CD. The die cut cupcake and tree are from Tattered Lace. I have coloured the image with my Graph'It Markers and given it a light spray with Graph'It fluid to give it a bit of texture.

Susan - This week I have done a very quick card from the fabulous CD Paper Boutique, its full of templates ,papers,3D projects and lots more. I have printed out the papers needed and cut them out, then decoupaged them - how simple is that? the two by two was a cutting file I made myself.

Lou - I have also used Paper Boutique 3 as my starting point and also a Dobadoo stencil (brick wall). I have gone for the adorable Hippo (Hippo Baffday) and also embossed all the bubble elements using 2 different dots folders for added dimension. Finally I added some Dobadoo buttoms and dewdrops for added bubble effect.

The challenge closes on Sunday 24 April at 12noon GMT. The top three from challenge 13 which was No Printed Backing Papers are:

First Place: Stephanie Emma
Second Place: Clairebears
Third Place: Sue

Congratulations! Please email Nikky with your placing and challenge number in the subject field for your blinkies! The first place winner will receive a Polka Doodles download!

The Polkadoodlers have a few little rules which makes our life a lot easier when we come visiting your blogs:

1. Please follow the challenge!

3. Please link your blog post and not your blog address with the blue frog - this saves us from searching your blog for your entry
4. And please no back-linking to previous posts - these will be disregarded from our top three voting
5. If you have comment moderation and word verification on your blog it really does slow us down when leaving comments - please consider turning word verification off especially now that comment moderation has a spam section.

Now onto the inspirational Design Team samples!

D'Anne
- Let's Live, Life and Love! My card and sentiment was created from the Love & Cherish cd. Not sure if you can see from the photo but, I dressed up the Bride and Groom. The bride's wedding dress was embellished with dazzling glitter. The grooms top hat and over coat was embellished with black glitter.

Ruth: I've used Paper Boutique Vol 1 for my creation and simply printed the church in A5 size and layered it up with foam pads. I've added a bit of glitter glue here and there, and that's it!

Enfys: Like most of my teamies I used Love and Cherish this week - I just totally love the subtle taupe colouring on this paper. I coloured the stampie cake in taupe to match, and added a few dots of aqua liquid pearls here and there on the paper and the image. The sentiment was stamped, and the flower is by Prima
Emma I have been very lazy this week and just enjoyed printing out the ready made image sheets from the Love and Cherish CD. All these items came from just one sheet and all I added was some linen paper, some mirri card and a few gemstones.

Audrey For this wedding card I decided to use the adorable colored digi from the Love and Cherish CD and the All Around and Everywhere CD for the polka dot paper and the sentiment. I embossed the white paper and added a ribbon to separate the papers. I also used 3D Dots to give the bride and groom some dimension. Saskia - I made a very simple card, with a beautiful image from the Love and Cherish cd-rom. I just added a ribbon from my stash and a cute heart. Simple and elegant...

Claire - My oh my those birdies on the Double sprinkle of Kraft cd are indeed enjoying Wedded Bliss - can you get more loved up than that pair! Using Promarkers to colour and I've added some extra elements also from the cd.

Ashley- I was inspired and used the Sugar Birdies Cd, and stamped the background paper using the Daisy Doodles Rubber stamp collection !
Lis-m : I have reached once again for the "Love and Cherish cd". You never fail to find just what you need for a love/Wedding related Project! I cut out and 3d'd a cake stampie, embellished and add a touch of colour. Added this over the papers, stamped a sentiment and voila !...

Fliss - I decided to make an unusual shaped easel style card with the elegant rose collection from the Love and Cherish CD combined with the shabby vintage papers from the All Around and Everywhere CD as they go together so well for a classic look. I added flowers punched from the papers, edged with bronze glitter pen together with pearls and some glittered flourishes to finish.
Miria For my card I found all I needed on Love and Cherish cd, me too. I cut out the owls and the sentiment and used foam pads to give dimension, then I added a concertina and some embellies from stash. Tracie: I used Double sprinkles of Kraft for my image, sentiment and patterned paper and the cherish corner punch for my simple but pretty card
Colette - I also used the Love and Cherish CD for my card this week, the paper design was printed onto pearl card, (which makes the pattern look really silvery) and embossed with the D'vine swirls embossing fold, I printed the wedding cake out 3 times, coloured and glittered parts of it and layered it up in tiers. I used some beading wire and heart shaped gems to make the decorations that are popping out of the top. The sentiment is one I have used for a long time and I can't remember where it originally came from. A few pearls and ribbon from stash finish it off.

Lou:
I have also used the new Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD to make my LARGE card this week. I adore this cute image and had to use it for this challenge. I made my own frame (covered with a paper from same CD) and matt/layered the topper. I cut some vines out and have decorated them using the roses from the embellishment section. I also used the same roses as a background paper as they are adorable images. Added a veil and a top hat to the owls to create a more wedding feel. The sentiment is from ????? (can't remember!).

Good luck - you have until Sunday 24 April at 12noon GMT to enter and please remember our rules!
