Happy Friday Everyone!
Before we get to the challenge we have a brand new release here this week and it's fabulous as ever...
Welcome to Work & Play 7!! You can order this here now:

Today we start a brand new challenge
Recycle It!
You can Recycle anything you wish - and this can be something as simple as reusing a bit of ribbon!
You have until Friday 14th November  noon GMT to enter. Just please follow the rules in the sidebar. You don't have to use our products to enter!
THE WINNER OF THIS CHALLENGE WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THIS BRAND NEW COLLECTION WHICH IS WORTH £11.99!

Soooo let's see what the team have created for us...

Katie - So what have we all to recycle and update. I have used an old Pen and note holder peg that looked like this

So I used Pretty Tuff CD ROM to make this organiser for a boys desk. Here is the finished project. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with. Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx

Sandie - Wow what a challenge!  For my Recycle It make I used an old photo frame, and used the old fashioned decoupage technique to make a Christmas Count Down Chalk Board!  I used the glorious paper from Festive Hollybobs collection (available as a CD or as a complete digi download collection!) and then I added some of the gorgeous embellishments from the collection too.  I really hope you enjoy my project and if you click on my name and hop over to my blog I have added the full details of how I made it :D  Happy Crafting, Sandie xxx

Anjie -  I've done a few of those word picture for people lately and I take the mount out as I don't use it. So I have a few of these mounts and so thought I would use one of those.
I started by going around the outside with a black marker and then adding a piece of pink card. I then printed out some papers from the Pretty Sweet CD and used the pink one on the mount and the blue one to cut a border and place on the mount. I then coloured in the sweet Amelia Braids image using my Graph'It Markers. I cut out a fence from a Marriane die to sit Amelia on, and the bird house and bird. More details on my blog

Yvonne -Well I was a but stumped for this challenge but my lovely fellow teamies reminded me that I didn't need to overthink this theme. I had a rummage through a few drawers and in my bedside cabinet I found this.
I have no idea what it is or where I got it from, but I thought to myself, I can use this, I'm going to call it gauze ribbon.  I didn't want to make a card for this, so I decided to dig out the tissue paper and make a candle. I simply printed the coloured image from 'Work & Play; Festiv Hollibobs' which is available as a CD-Rom, a digi download collection. If you like the image, she is available as a single digi image or as a rubber stamp.  Once printed onto tissue paper, I cut round the image, laid it onto the candle, wrapped some greaseproof paper round it and used my heat gun.  I then wrapped my found ribbon round the candle and then overlaid some satin red ribbon on top.  I quickly cut a ponsietta out, sprayed it with glitter spray and glued it on.
...and then I found out what it was - it is May Arts Web ribbon from Polkadoodles HERE!! LOL!

Susan - I just could'nt think what to recycle ! anyway I found a tub of yummy Orange biscuits so I made a cup-pa  sat down and ate the lot and this is what I was left with and now the fun begins ...!
I used papers and embellishments from the Festive Hollybobs CD (now available as a download) and the adorable button embellishments and tiny pompom trim are fromThe Polkadoodles Shop.  This is the end product and lots more close-up pictures on my blog....
Sue: This weeks challenge is recycle. I chose to recycle a book as I have always wanted to try one of these. I took an old book and folded all the pages in half then I cover the cover with backing papers  and distressed the. I then decorated it with flowers and tags  and a bow all using the papers from       Winston  and then I added Etty Bear from same cd....

Bev here with my recycled project I picked up an el cheapo clock and gave it a Polkadoodles makeover.....Before....

.....I coloured a digi of Piper with my Graph'it Markers to make the clock face. Details on my blog
I used my distress inks on the edges of all papers & doilies and cut different sizes to add interest to the clock frame. The papers and flowers are from the oh so versatile Winston CD Rom its also available as a digital download HERE

After.....

I think it's certainly brightened up an otherwise rather dull and boring looking clock. I can't wait to see what you all come up with this fortnight.

Jenny here with my project for this recycled challenge. I have used one of the famous IKEA mirrors and made it into a Christmas mirror for my friends granddaughter.
I have used the Festive Hollybobs for the project with one of Nikky's chalkboard stamps. I printed out the backing papers and covered the frame with them. I was going to include the Santa digi  but after getting this far decided he wasn't really needed.  The snow is done with a coarse texture gel and sprinkled with glitter but it doesn't show in the picture, there are more details on my blog.

Frezja - Hi all Kasia here :) Recycling is my middle name so I'm happy and I will show you my mini album made from toilet paper rolls.... :)
Nothing throws ahahah :) Tutorial on how to do this mini can be found on my blog here.
I have used lovely paper from Winston CD :) and the roses from Rose Budd CD
Have a nice day all, :)

Now, for the inspiration from the Polkadoodles team this week....

Sandie - Oh I love this theme, Christmas Fun :D  Gave me a chance to revisit the fabulous Festive Hollybobs CD and what's even better is that the image I have used is also available for digi download!  Her name is Hollybobs Cards and I realise that this is a shock, but I have not used my alcohol markers!!! I know, shocker!  Instead I used a black micron pen to add shading to the already fabulous artwork by our very own Nikky :D  I hope you like my monochrome Christmas Fun and I look forward to seeing all your entries.  More details of mine on my blog and if you follow me you will never miss a DT inspiration!  Happy Crafting, Sandie xx

Jenny - I've used the Festive Hollybobs for this little cracker style box, I am going to make some pinwheels to stand inside them and use them as place settings for Christmas.

Katie - Not long now till the big day so I thought I would make a "Count Down Too" wall hanging. I used old drinks coasters and Pretty Tuff CD ROM. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with have fun and Keeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie DT xx

sue                 Challenge this week is christmas fun I have made a christmas card
                                                             using   pretty tuff
I used the front door stamp and coloured it in christmas colours
downloaded the lamp post and snowman from the
and added some snow and glitter

Bev here with my Christmas fun card, I decided to challenge myself by using an everyday image 'Amelia with basket'  and see if I could turn her into something festive. I coloured her with my Graph'its all colours used are on my blog. The paper, bow and heart are all from the fabulous resourceful Work & Play Festive Hollybobs all I've added from my own crafty stash is a gemstone in the middle of the bow, some glitter glue on the holly berries and some irridescent embossing powder on the heart.

Yvonne - Hi there!! Well I decided to make a fun little Christmas card using papers and embellishments from Work & Play Festive Hollibobs, which you can get as a CDRom or as a digi download bundle. However, I love the new Winston Bear Collection and wanted to use 'Etty's New Dress' as it demonstrates how versatile the collection is.Winston is available as a CDRom, a digi download collection or as an individual digi stamp.  I enlarged the snowflake embellishment on my Silhouette and then cut it out twice to make a card.  Added the embellishments and coloured in Etty with my Graph'It Markers.

Susan - Well here I am again with Etty from the Winston CD and also available as full download  Here. These digis are just adorable .I coloured the image with my Graph'it Markers and Prisma Pencils
I have also used Papers and embellishments from the Festive Hollybobs CD or Download Here and.Hope this gives you a little inspiration .

Anjie - I was challenged to make a Christmas card without using anything from any of the Christmas collections. At first I thought how the heck am I going to do that? Then I thought of this paper from the Pretty Sweet Collection, and thought if I glittered it it would look Christmasy and I think it does. (You can't really tell on the photo). The image is also from the Pretty Sweet Collection or is availalbe as an instant download here and is coloured with my Graph'It Markers. More info on the things I have used is on my blog.

Frezja - hi all :) Today I decided to make a funny card with WINSTON CD :)
Sweet bears are suitable for every occasion even on Christmas and winter....

Sooo let's see what fantastic inspiration the team have created for us...

Jenny - As this week is anything but square I think this will fit the bill, I have promised the girls in work I'd make an Advent Calendar so used the Festive Hollybobs for the backing papers and the little gingerbread men. More details are on my blog.

Sandie - Shaped cards is not my favourite thing (just incase you haven't heard me mention it lol) but I used this times challenge theme to show that the fabulous Festive Hollybobs CD is so versatile that it can make fun cards easier...and trust me, if I can do it anyone can lol :D  All my elements, papers, main image and the shape for the card itself were all taken from the CD!  I just added a couple of little bits from my stash and if you click on my name it will take you to my blog and full details of how I made it...I really hope you like it and I look forward to your Anything but Square entries...happy crafting...Sandie xx

Sue.... hi this challenge is not to make a square card so I made a circle easel card - I have used Claude from Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff....The papers are printed from the same cd. I inked all the edges and I coloured Claude with my copic pens....I also added some card candy to edges and added sentiments also from the same collection...

Yvonne - I opted to use a shaped card blank for this challenge and I have used 'Winston' from the uber special 'Winston Collection'. I went with the great image of Winston sitting in his chair reading his paper. I coloured him with my Graph'It Markers and decided to colour him using the textured effect. A full list of the colours used are on my blog. I distressed the papers, which are also from the collection, added some grosgrain ribbon and perfect pearls. All the embellishments are from the collection.
Susan - .I have used Papers ,embellishments , and one of  the adorable digis from the new  Winston CD
He is coloured with my amazing Graphit Markers ,I cut out a W and made into a 3D object  ,then used all my bits n bobs to embellish it and this is the end result.I do hope you like it,now I cant wait to see your amazing makes .

Katie Good Day Hope that you are having a good week. We have to make a card that isn't square. I have used and old Jigsaw piece for my creation this week. I used Pretty Tuff CD ROM to create my spooky make this week. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with. Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeep Crafting xx

Bev here with my creation for this week. I'm not sure what you call them so I've opted for a 'dangler'. I've used a variety of goodies from Polkadoodles. The heart is a cutting file from Picnix 1 CD Rom covered with backing paper from Pretty Sweet the digi is the adorable Piper coloured with Graph'it's and the flowers are from Nikky's latest collection Winston

Claire C  I'm useless at shaped cards so I've taken the easy optiion and just used a shaped card blank. I've used the adorable Ballerina image from Work and Play 2, she's also available as a digital stamp too (you can find her here). I've coloured her with PanPastels and used some of the gorgeous papers and ephemera from the Rose Budd Collection. The sentiment is also from Work and Play 2 and I've added some little Laser Art corners from Dutch Doobadoo.

Anjie - I have used the Dutch Doobadoo shape art square 15x15cm to create my shaped card. The image is from the Work & Play Festive Hollybobs CD as are the papers. The collection is also available as an instant download too! She is coloured with my Graph'It Markers

Kasia-Frezja - hi all :) For my card I used the cardboard circle, I put cardstock and picture of a snowman from CD Festive Hollybobs . A few flowers, some leaves and card is done :)
Thank you for your attention and have a nice day :) xx

Week 39 - It's a Sketch - Polkadoodles Challenge

Hello to everyone out there and it's Happy Friday!
We are here this week with our wonderful inspiration from the design team.

Have you checked out the Polkadoodles store lots of new items have been added this week
Take a Peek Here

The theme of this week is still
It's a Sketch
and you can
enter the challenge
Do not forget that it is not necessary for the use of products Polkadoodles to enter challenges
but make sure you follow the rules in the sidebar ---- & gt;

You have until noon GMT Friday, October 3rd to enter.

The winner of the Week 36/37- Tag You're It is at the bottom of this post.
Now, for the inspiration from the design team this week....

Anjie - Everything on my card is from the adorable Winston CD, isn't he just the most handsome bear you have ever seen!!!! I have added faux stitching around the edge of the papers and hearts as it goes so well with the papers. I have used a pre-coloured image this week to show you just how fabulous they are if you can't or don't want to colour.

Sandie - It's fabulous to be here again and offer you my DT mid-challenge inspiration for our sketch challenge.  I have to say that when I saw it was a sketch I hid under a cushion!  I am the type of crafter that starts of doing one thing and then ends up with my make mutating into something else so working to a sketch was a little scary!  But, I gave it a go lol.  I have used the fabulous Amelia Roses
who is available on digi download on her own (OR with the others that fall in your basket!) and as a full CD on the Pretty Sweet CD. She is coloured with my Graph'it Marker pens and for the eagle eyed the bunting is a cut file from Winston  the amazing new collection we can't put down!  Check out my blog for more details and here is my interpretation - happy crafting, Sandie x

Jenny - Hi again and it's time to share my card for the mid-challenge inspiration. now I don't mind using a sketch and find that when you are struggling they are a good starting point. This one is so lovely that I used it as it is and didn't need to change the layout around.
I have used papers from the fabulous Winston cd as I already had some printed and I thought they worked well, I have also used one of the Pretty Sweet girls and this is Piper she is available as a single digi or you can get a cd with her and her friends on.  I added a few stitch lines around some of the layers and added a flower cut from one of my dies. There are more details on my blog.

Bev here with my take on the sketch, as you can see I took it all 'As is' but had a great time ageing and distressing the papers. Winston is my inspiration but as you can see you don't necessarily need to use the characters to produce an end product. I'm seriously addicted to printing off, shaping and building up the flowers from this awesome CD.

Susan - Well here we are here with some mid challenge inspiration  .
I have used the adorable Etty from the New CD Winston ,also papers and embellishments .I have coloured her with my Graph'it markers then used my Prisma Pencil's to add a bit of extra shading also distressed most of the card with my distress inks.

Yvonne - Hi everyone - I am here with some inspiration for the sketch challenge. I opted to use everything Winston which you can get from the new collection, check it out here. As the sketch is hearts, I opted to use Winston holding a heart, the hearts on the card are from the collection as are the papers, the wee flowers are from the collection too. The sentiment is actually from the Pretty Sweet Collection.

Katie - This was a great challenge, it is so interesting when you have the same sketch to see what everyone else comes up with. I used Work and Play 6 Background Papers and some bling. I cannot wait to see what you come up with. Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeeep Crafting xx

Claire C I've used one of my favourite images from Festive Hollybobs for this card, isn't she adorable?? I've coloured her up with Graph'It markers ad layered her up over kraft cardstock. The gorgeous bp, paper bow and the supercute ticket sentiment are all from Festive Hollybobs too

Frezja - Hello all :) Today I have for you an example how to use collections Festive Hollybobs in the way NO Christmas....... Let's say a little Christmas a lot of sketch..:)
I love such unusual project :) More foto you can find on my blog :)
Have a nice day :)

Soooo let's see what the team have created for us...

Sandie -  Hello again :) It's always exciting at the start of a new challenge but for me this was a little more terrifying!! Tag It is the theme and shaped anything is well outside my comfort zone!! But here goes...my DT inspiration for the theme :)  I have used the fab footballer from Work and Play 6 and coloured him with my Graph'it Marker Pens.  I did get to play with shrink plastic again (its been ages and I'd forgot how much fun it was!) so I really hope you like my Tag It make and I look forward to seeing your take on the theme...happy crafting xx Sandie xx

Katie - To say I LOVE TAGS! is an understatement, But I love making them they are so useful. I used Piper Playing Digi Stamp and backing papers from Pretty Sweet. She is such a delight to colour. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with so "Tag You Are IT!!" Have fun and Keeeeeeeeeeeeeep Crafting Katie xx

Yvonne - Hello there! For this weeks challenge I HAD to use Maddie Shy, she is on the Pretty Sweet Collection CD-Rom or available as a digi image on her own. The papers I used for the tags are also from the Pretty Sweet Collection. I used my Graph'It Markers to colour Maddie. The flowers I have for embellishments on both tags are from the Flowers & Leaves Digi Bundle. I finished the tags off with some lovely dotty organza ribbon.

Sue ...Hi!  I have chosen to use the ponsettia and papers from Festive Hollyhobs. I have printed and cut two  of the ponsettias and layered them up and have layered the backing paper with ribbon from my own stash - thesentiment ticket is also from the same cd.

Bev here with my tag, I really need to make more of these as it was such fun to make!. I used the Picnix 2 Gingerbread Twist CD, a bit of ribbon and some ink what could be simpler?

Claire C  I had lots of fun making my tag, I used distress stains to make the splats on the background and then used one of the gorgeous new sentiment stamps, I adore the chalkboard effect!! I've used Crazy Enough, stamped on coated cardstock and edged with gold. I've added lots of flowers which are from the Dollie Goes East Collection and popped some of the lovely Doodle Dew drops in Berry Red in the centres.

Jenny. I love the Pretty Sweet girls so have done my tag using Maddie Shy, all details are on my blog but you can find her with her others friends here
Susan -I just love making tags and so many things to do with them.
Well I've been a bit naughty and I thought I'd give you a sneaky peak at a new collection which is on Create & Craft  Sunday at 3pm

Frezja - hello :) Today I'll show you how I used a teddy bear from the new collection - Winston .. I love these collection!  Such a sweet and nice colours fun to work with her :)
and teddy bear are so cool!
 kiss :*

Anjie - I have used the Wonderland stamp set and the Wonderland CD to create my tag. You can buy them as a bundle to save some money here. You save a whopping £4.98! I have cut the paper into squares to create a patchwork effect and inked the edges of all the squares before sticking them down. I then added faux stitching around the edges.

Stunning creations this week and lots of inspiration for out
Tag You're It challenge
