But first lets see the Design Teams inspiration for you this week....

Anna Wow! It’s been a long time since I made a card with flowers! Recently I’ve been making mostly round and Christmas cards, so today, especially for you, something elegant with flowers. A multi-layered card, with the aforementioned flowers, ribbons, white tulle, pom poms, paper doilies, a Polish cut out sign ‘Sto lat’ (roughly translated, it means ‘May you live a hundred years’), also something recycled from a blouse, i.e. gray tulle with gold accents and sequins. The paper, which I used comes from Rose Budd collection. If you want to see more photos, I invite you to  visit my blog.

Lou: I have used lots of recycled bits on my card: kraft card is from a cereal box, lace from ..who knows, corrugated card from packaging and canvas effect card from the inside of a gift box. I have used the Perfect poinsettia and Christmas Doodles stamp sets, coloured with my distress inks. Full details and more photos are on my blog.

Scatty Jan The other week I was using some spray and sparkle on some poinsettias , I had sprayed them on an old bit of Kraft - When they were dry and I took them off I loved the Kraft more than the poinsettias and definitely couldn't bear to throw it out. The photo does it no justice it is just full of sparkle and magic. Perfect for this Challenge.

I decided to pop it on as the background for my bag . I coloured up using Graph'Its the wonderful digi image Octavia Thinking. The Bow is from the Festive Hollybobs collection and the flowers are from the Cherryblossom Lane CD.

Asha - My project started with something yummy wrapped in gold in a brown paper cup. I used paper from Festive Hollybobs, a sweet angel and candy canes from Angelberry Christmas and a sentiment from Gingerbread Twist to make a tag. The gold wrapper is a band in the middle of the tag and the brown paper cup is now a halo around the angel. Extra embellies from my stash: ribbon, twine, Stickles and Liquid Pearls. I also used Graph'It markers to add extra colour to the digis.

Karon - I had these bottles from some little flowers that I have placed in better storage.  I decided they would be perfect to fill with treats.  So I removed all the labels and ran them through my dishwasher to sterilize them and then decorated and filled them. Before...

I used the Work & Play 5 Festive Hollybobs collection.  I decided to showcase just 4, out of the many, design sheets that are available in this fabulous collection.  These are great if you want lots of elements already put together and are great for making quick cards and projects.  I wrapped each bottle in papers off the CD and also made some little rosettes for the bottle tops.  Here are my bottles all filled and decorated.
Cheremane - I have decided to use a empty tin to make my remote control holder for my recycled project seeing we all have empty tins at home. Make sure you give it a good wash first though.

I've used the fabulous Winston Cd to make my recycled remote control holder for my hubby, mind you he can never find the remote as I always have it. The Winston Cd is pack full of gorgeous images, papers and accessories galore. The main image I have used is Winston Bear Snoozy Days which you can get on his own as a  Digi download as well. Head on over to the Polkadoodles Shop where you can get lots of crafty goodies to help you remake my project.

Samantha K - I used the wonderful Work and Play 6 Collection to create a get well pen.
There are a great range of images and embellishments and as always papers, in this collection, something for everyone :) For my recycled item I used an old pen that was the type you get given advertising a company with their details in the barrel. I emptied these out and added my own bits :)
Its a fully working pen. I created a little image square, with a character, some flowers and a sentiment (all from the CD) and I had a pen with a large barrel, that once taken apart, had the printed square popped inside to make a cute get well pen :)

Ashley- I Decided to make use of an extra wedding invitation print out and not waste paper. I was simple I wanted to recycle all my old scraps and papers so for my card I only used scraps and printed on old wedding invites =) I used the amazing Work & Play 5 Festive Hollybobs collection for the main image as well as the background paper and North Pole embelly. What's so great about the collection is all the amazing images work well with one another or as a stand alone image! So head on over to the store you don't want to miss out on these adorable images for this Christmas and Holiday season!

Melanie - For my recycling project I decided to upcycle a glass candle jar for a first Christmas keepsake or gift. I used the wonderful Festive Hollybobs CD for this, which contains some lovely design sheets with papers, toppers and extra elements that were perfect for decorating this candle jar. I added some punched snowflakes, a chalkboard panel and red silk ribbon to finish. The final touch was a red silk ribbon bow for the candle jar lid. This Mistletoe Kiss image is also available as a clear stamp in the Polka Doodles store - gorgeous!

WOW - amazing creations and ideas!

You don't have to use Polkadoodles products to enter the challenge and our winner will receive a copy of our fabulous Winston CD rom collection!

Please, though remember that there are only 2 entries per person.

So lets see what the Design Team have come up with for you this week.....

Scatty Jan For My Christmas card - I have used the fantastic Dollie Daydream goes East for the main image and the sentiment., I just replaced the tea cup with presents, that were from the Festive Hollybobs collection along with the papers and tree. I coloured with Graph'It Markers xx

Asha - Apparently Dollie Daydream images work for Christmas too. Here I'm using the Glitz Dollie from the Dollie Daydream Girl Talk Bonus Edition CD. She is also available as a digi download. I coloured her with Graph'It markers. The papers and greeting are from the fabulously lush Angelberry Christmas CD. Keeping it simple with just a few bling and a sheer bow.

Cheremane. For my Xmas make I used Festive HollyBobs Cd I adore the Skater girl and whats more you can get her on her own as an instant Digi Image Download and even as a Clear Stamp and lots more of the Characters are also available too. To make my pond for her to skate on I used Glossy accents and glitter. Pop on over to the Polkadoodles Shop for all you crafting needs.

Cara: I too used the Work and Play collections for my project, I used the adorable little Ballerina from W&P 2, the papers i printed direct on to my cracker is from W&P 1 and the sentiment is from the Festive Hollybobs CD.  Did you know you can also get the little Ballerina as a clear stamp amd also a Digi image! How fab!

Melanie - I used the adorable Winston CD as the focal point for my card, mixing the backing paper and image from the CD with a little Christmas candy cane and sentiment from the Festive Hollybobs CD. Some extra merriment was added with the help of some glitter card, gold jingle bells, Christmas ribbon and a die-cut and sanded postbox.

Karon - I used the ballerina from the Work & Play 2 collection, she is coloured with pencils, and I added a little bit of glitter pen to her too.  The papers are also from this wonderful CD.  I added some butterfly wings from the Bonbon Belles Double CD collection to turn her into a Christmas fairy.  I also used some trees, a mushroom house, embellishments and sentiment tickets from another fabulous collection the A Home for Christmas CD.

Samantha KI have made an advent slider, with Etty bear from the Winston CD as the star main attraction at the top.  As the numbers are pulled through to show the next date and then pulled out completely, Etty drops down, making her way down to the fireplace and presies :)  The other elements hanging on the wall and fireplace and the paper used for the sliders, are all from the Festive holly bobs CD.  To hopefully make Etty look a little more festive, I changed her dress to a red and also her presie, which could quite easily be a Christmas presie.

AnnaI made a round card again and again with a beautiful red deer. I hope that you’re not bored with so many round cards, yet. This one is entitled “A letter to Santa Claus” and I decided to make it mainly in white. Consequently, I used white doilies, cut out houses, tulle, a drapey fabric tape, a huge bow, pom poms. But also I used pictures, such as the one with Santa from Picknix Collection 2...Gingerbread Twist CD . The whole is rounded off with artificial snow attached with gesso, as well as with silver and red glitter glue.

Lou: I have used the Postwoman from Work and Play 6 so that she is now delivering all out Christmas letters, card and parcels. I also used the letters background paper which is also on the CD. I have added a little stamping and die cuts to make her even more "festive". Full details are on my blog.

WOW!  Awesome creations from the Design Team this week.
Hope it inspires you to start getting your Christmas creations ready.

Can't wait to see what you are all creating.

Anything but Square

You have until noon GMT, Friday 17 October, to enter
and don't forget you do not have to use Polkadoodles Products to take
part in our challenges.
The rules are over there in the side bar ----->

The Winner and Top 3 of our Sketch Challenge
is at the end of this post.

Time to take a look at the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team this week...

Lou: I have used Work and Play 6 for my card this week. I have used the hoover digi and made it in to an A4 sized card background. I cut around the edges of the hoover to make my shaped card blank. All the added elements are taken from one of the design sheets found on the CD. As an added embellishment, I have cut up a "real" duster.

Samantha K
I decided to do another 3D project.  Etty and Winston are printed straight from the CD and have also been reversed, so either side shows them. The flowers were all printed and cut direct from the CD and then shaped and glued together. I added little birdies and dragonflies to the top and a couple of butterflies inside. All of the elements you see were from the Winston CD :) You can find more details and photos on my BLOG

Scatty Jan For my shaped card I have used the fabby Dollie Daydream collection, all the Papers, the image and sentiment are from this wonderfull collection. I have coloured with Graph'It markers - You can also buy the stunning image Pondering on her own here

Asha - I made a gift bag using papers and digi stamp from the Dolly Daydream Girl Talk Bonus Edition. The image of the Bouquet Dollie is also available for download as a digi. I coloured her with Graph'It markers, added a bow and ribbon for handles and called it a day.

Cara - I've used the Work and Play 4 cd to create my card today.  I created and cut a beach ball using the papers from the CD on my silhouette.  I printed off the Swimming Girl image and coloured her up with my Graph'it markers. (she is also available separately as a digi download here)   Finally I created "waves" with ribbons and pearls.

Cheremane - This week I've used Festive HollyBobs Cd, whats more you can get lots of the Characters as Digi Images ready to download straight away to craft with. This challenge theme is great for me as I  always tend to make square cards so its nice to do something different. The Hollybobs Angel is one of the pre-coloured images from the Cd along with the fabulous papers and bow with just a few accessories from my crafty stash and whats more you can get lots of other crafts goodies over at the Polkadoodles Website.

Anna - For today's inspiration I chose a round card again, because this type of card, in my opinion, is more interesting to design, in the sense that one can decorate it with techniques, which will not work well for square or rectangular cards. This card is constructed in layers, doily on a doily. Around, and under the last doily, I arranged a fabric flounce, which here presents itself exceptionally well. This time I wanted to do something in blue, so I decided to use papers, which I printed earlier, i.e. two blue papers from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD collection, and one from Polkadoodles cd Work and Play Festive Hollybobs I also used a sign and a snowman from Picknix Collection 2...Gingerbread Twist CD , some white paper, from which I cut out a star, spruce branches, and some red glitter paper, from which I made a beautiful deer. Moreover, I decorated the card with ribbon, pom poms, glitter dots, button, sequins and my favorite tulle. If you want to see more photos, I invite you to visit my blog.

Karon - For my shaped card, I went with a hexagon shape.  I used papers and image from the Work and Play 2 CD collection.  My little gamer is coloured with pencils and layered up on pop dots for depth.  I have inked all the edges of all the layers too.

MelanieI rarely do cards that aren't square so this was a new one for me! I used the new Winston CD for this one, which features some gorgeous material-effect labels, and I used one to form the basis of this card. I used some of the beautiful flowers from the CD and mixed them with layered paper flowers and blue and lilac gems, then added a strip of pink ruffled organza ribbon.

Fabulous creations and inspiration.

The Design Team have done an amazing job with this wonderful sketch so here's the teams' inspiration for you....

Scatty Jan - What a lovely sketch this time - I used the fantastic Work and Play Festive Hollybobs collection. The flower and holly have been layered to give some depth.

Karon - I am not really one for sketches, as I am not very good.  However, I love this sketch and it was so easy to use.  I replaced the two hearts with the two main characters from the new Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD.  All the papers and embellishments are from this wonderful CD.  The sentiment is from the Cherryblossom Lane CD.  I distressed all the edges and inked them up.

Samantha K - I have used the Work and Play 6 collection to create my card. I have used the barmaid image merged with part of the barman image, to create a more fuller bar scene :) This image is perfect whether giving to a friend who likes to celebrate or someone that works behind a bar.You can find more details and photos on MY BLOG

Cheremane - I have used the papers from Pretty Sweet Cd I adore the girls on this disk and the papers really are stunning. I decided this time to let the papers speak for themselves on my inspiration as you really can't beat having the perfect papers at your finger tips ready to print when you need them and not only that you can print as many as you want.

Melanie -  I love using sketches - it's great how you're freed up to think about colours, images and embellishments without worrying about placement - the results are always fabulous! I used the Work & Play 6 CD again for this one. The cleaning lady is such a fab image and I love that vacuum-patterned paper! I made the coiled flowers by tightly curling a strip of patterned paper using a quilling tool. Some bright felt flowers added an extra splash of colour while some lilac gems and buttons finished the effect.

Asha - Yes.... I made a Christmas card. It's hard to say no to the Festive Hollybobs CD. Lots of layering made easy with scrumptious papers from the CD. Not to mention tons of embellishments, digis and sentiments to choose from. Extras from my stash: bits of ribbon and 3 red bling ... that's all it needs!

AnnaRecently I am delighted with the new Winston collection from Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD . However, even though this time I used papers from this collection for die cut elements, I decided to do something different - not with bears or other cute pictures but a card for a wedding. Besides, the hearts in the maps inspired me to to something wedding themed. Additional elements, which give this card a pretty touch are my favorite tulle, flowers, crystals and beads on a string.

Lou: I have used Winston (from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD) to create my birthday card. All elements for my card are from the CD. I have coloured Winston with my PrismaColour pencils.

SusanI have used Amelia 15 from the Polka Doodles CD,  Pretty Sweet. I have coloured her with my Copic pens. Background papers and sentiment are also from the same cd.

Fabulous creations from my teamies, don't you agree?!

Now it's your turn to get creating and enter our challenge
by following the above sketch - we can't wait to see how you interpret it.

It's inspiration week for our second week of our challenge
Tag You're It and you can enter the challenge

Please remember we have a limit of 2 entries per person.
Some people have been entering the challenges more than twice
and are therefore not eligible for prizes.
The rules are over to the right in the side bar ------->

Let's see what our amazing Design Team have to share,
for their wonderful inspiration this week.

Scatty Jan - I adore making tags, so this was a great challenge for me - I decided to use the lovely Work and Play Festive Hollybobs collection, as it was quite a big project I went for using the pre-coloured images. All the papers and sentiments are also from the collection.

Samantha K -  I used the stunningly gorgeous and sweet new Winston Collection for my tags. Everything you see from the tags themselves, to the sentiments, to the zip!!! Are all from the CD, it is just wow, you will fall in love with the papers alone. I truly do think its my fave collection that Nikky has brought out to date :) You can find more details over on my Blog, hugs xx

Asha - I made a tag using images and papers from the Design Sheet in the Work & Play Festive Hollybobs CD. I also had fun making a few paper bows from the same CD.

Lou: I have used oodles of the fab embellies found on the NEW Winston CD to create my tag. All die cuts have been cut from card that I have printed off the CD and then either aged further (with my pan pastels), or left as is. I have turned my tag in to a card ready for a friends up coming birthday.

Karon - Finally got chance to have a play with the new Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD - isn't he just adorable!  I used Etty, his friend, she is precoloured and decoupaged.  Nikky has made some fabulous design sheets on this new collection and it makes for quick and easy creating.  I distressed and inked some of the edges and just layered up for my tag.  Also added one of the fabulous papers bows, that can also be found on the CD.

Cheremane - I loved making this tag as I adore doing all pink and girly. I got to use the super fabulous Digi called Piper she is from the gorgeous Pretty sweet Girls range, they really are adorable.

Cara - Can you believe I've never made a tag??? I know unbelievable right! I had great fun using the adorable Ballerina from the Work and Play 2 Collection, she is also available to buy separately as an immediate digi download here .  I also used the papers from the CD.

Melanie - I used the Polka Doodles Work & Play 6 CD for my tag, which features a fab horse-themed section for little girls. As I printed the pre-coloured image quite small to fit the tag, I decided not to fussy-cut it but adhered it to a pink die-cut label instead. Some patterned paper strips, pink trim and brads and a felt letter finished off my tag perfectly. A cute make for that special little girl!

Anna For my tag theme, I chose Christmas because I love making Christmas projects. Besides white die-cut accessories, I made it entirely using digital accessories and paper from Picknix Collection 2...Gingerbread Twist CD. It is made using layers, from a beautiful paper with gingerbread girls and poinsettias, divided from each otherby tulle and die cut snowflakes. The entire effect is completed by brocade ribbon, cord, a cardboard present, crystals and hawthorn berries. I also applied a sprinkling of silver and red glitter to the elements  in order to obtain a stronger clarity and contrast.

Ruth: I've made a bottle tag using an offcut of card plus one sheet of A4 paper from the Work and Play 5 Festive Hollibobs cd - I printed the design onto both sides and made 3 different sizes of flowers and then added a glass gem to the centre of some of them. Just goes to show how versitle this cd is as you don't need to use it just for Christmas! Everything else is from my stash.

WOW - amazing inspiration this week!!!
