Week 32 Challenge - Good Luck

Firstly, before we get onto this week's challenge we would all like to say a HUGE thank you to all the people who have been protecting our cities in the UK this week during all the horrific scenes the entire world has witnessed.

We have many overseas followers to this blog and believe us when we say that we are truly ashamed that anyone, let alone our own people, can behave this way, it's just inexcusable. Hopefully now the worst is over thanks to all the amazing work done by those in the emergency services and from the members of the public who have also stood up to help clear up the mess and tried to ensure all our communities are safe, and we hope that none of our lovely followers have been affected in any way and all are safe and sound.

...With this in mind, we also have to give a special tribute to one of our teamies - our own special heroine (you know who you are) who has been in the thick of the rioting over the past few days with no thought for her own safety whilst she's been helping to protect and keep us all safe - she's so modest but it is only right that we thank her and say how proud we are of her, her strength and determination is amazing and how much better the world would be if we could all have her sense of responsibility to our community. Girl, quite simply - you ROCK. On behalf of the team and everyone who reads this, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you've done this week x

So, it's Claire here this week and my challenge is Good Luck! I can't believe our kids in Scotland go back to school next week - the summer holidays have flown by and I'm sure a little bit of luck will be needed to settle back into the changed routines. We'd love to see your Good Luck creations for any occasion this week!

The top three from challenge 30 which was In An English Country Garden are:

First Place: Valchen
Second Place: Jenny B
Third Place: Lorraine

Congratulations! Please email Nikky for your blinkies! The first placed winner receives a download and please put in the subject field of your email your placing and the challenge number - this will make Nikky's life a lot easier!

The Polkadoodlers have a few little rules which makes our life a lot easier when we come visiting your blogs:

1. Please follow the challenge!
2. Only enter your creation into a maximum of 10 challenges including Polka Doodles.
3. Please link your blog post and not your blog address with the blue frog - this saves us from searching your blog for your entry.
4. And please no back-linking to previous posts - these will be disregarded from our top three voting.
5. If you have comment moderation and word verification on your blog it really does slow us down when leaving comments - please consider turning word verification off especially now that comment moderation has a spam section.

Now onto the Design Team samples and inspiration! If you want more detail on how their projects have been created, just click on their name and you'll be taken to their blog. Closing date for the challenge is Sunday 21st August at 12noon GMT.

Claire I have combined the really lovely girl (she reminds me of my daughter Hope) from Magical Winter part 2, with papers and alphas from the Double sprinkle of Kraft cd. I have coloured the image with Promarkers and added some of the colours I used into the alphas to make them work in harmony. I have added some lovely Basic Grey fabric brads to the Polka doodles flowers.

Enfys: I used the gorgeous little owls from Back to Nature, with some paper from Sundae of Seasons - I cut an extra owl out and made a slit in his wing so that he looks as if he is holding the computer sentiment. The black letters are by American Crafts, and I used Card Candi to decorate the pointy scallops on the bottom (Nikky has all the brand new candi colours, yummy).

Fliss: A simple card from me this week using paper and elements all from the Sundae Of Seasons CD. I cut out the flowers and glittered the edges then assembled the card on a scalloped card blank adding some Prima leaves and an alterable sentiment panel on which I added my good luck message.

Emma Hello there, my good luck card is for my friends who are emigrating, so my wish is a wish of good luck of course but, also a wish for happiness for them and their family on their new adventure. I used papers and sentiment from A Double Sprinkle of Kraft CD and some Doodle Dewdrops.

Colette - This week I have made a Good Luck rocker card, the good luck letters come from Magical Winter CD1, papers and image are from A Double Sprinkle of Kraft. I used Go Kreate scalloped circle dies to cut the image and frame, the charm is from a Pound land necklace and the glitter is Debbi Moore.

Audrey... For this Good Luck card I used the CD All Around & Everywhere. I used my M.S. button punch, hemp and 3D dots to make the buttons and I used scrap paper with my S.U. Corner Ticket punch for the edges

Diane...for this Good Luck in your New Home card, I used stamps from theNeighbours series, sentiment and paper from the Sundae of Seasons CD. The images are coloured with Copics and Prisma pencils.

Miria I made a Good luck tag: the ladybird, coloured with Promarkers, is from A double sprinkle of kraft and the coloured stamped flower as well. For the background I used a variety of spotty scraps from PD Cds. The sentiment is handwritten with Kuretake Zig. As you can see from the photo, I used Letratac to adhere perfectly the flower to the tag and find out easily the correct position.

Ruth: I've made a star shaped card with a paper from Paper Boutique Vol 1 (Star Cake). The banner is a Sizzix die and I've handwritten the sentiment over Promarker colouring. The extra stars are from offcuts of paper and I've used glossy accents over them. Everything else from my stash.

Nikky...I made an easel card using the lovely Fairy from Magical Winter CD rom and coloured her in with my brand new Flexmarkers from Letraset. I used the Kuretake metallic Calligraphy pens to doodle Good Luck then just added a giant brad and some punched flowers around the edge to embellish (flowers are actually snowflakes from MS punch).

Good luck with the challenge and please remember our rules! Closing date is Sunday 21 August at 12noon GMT.
