Wk4...Digi Choosday Challenge - Anything Goes/In the Pink

Happy Tuesday everyone and we all hope you're having a great crafty week!

Let's get straight to the good stuff today....
We have a special offer code
for you this week for the Download Store - use code DCw440 at the checkout and you will save a massive 40% off all our digi products - woohoo! The code ends midnight on 2nd Feb so make sure you grab some lovely digis to work with!

We also have THE most stunning new addition to our CD collections this week - I am not usually a big fan of Oriental designs so I've always steered well clear of this genre but I had a little spark of an idea over Christmas when I saw a particular colour palette and so I got to work on Oriental with a Polkadoodles twist. Now, if you don't like Oriental either, I think this might change your mind! A gorgeous colour palette and stunning images and papers in this collection - we are all going WILD for it on the Design Team!

Obviously Valentine's is on it's way too and we have some brand new and yummy Emma Canning digis up for grabs too - Emma's designs are so cute! Check them out here!

So let's get on with the Challenge this week. As always our challenge is
ANYTHING GOES
but we always challenge the Design Team with something special, so this week they had to go with
IN THE PINK
and boy, did they come up with some lovely makes as usual!

Don't forget you DO NOT need to use any Polkadoodles stash to enter because it's Anything Goes here, but PLEASE do not enter more than twice! We pick a random winner so to make it fair if you add more than this you will not be counted!!!

You can see the winners of our last challenge at the bottom of this post.

Let's see what the team made this week....

Zoe -  Challenged to be 'In The Pink' I took this very literally and used a bold shade to colour this gorgeous Dollie Daydream Girlie Talk  character using a mix of markers including Graph It's.  I coordinated the ribbon and ticket sentiments by colouring them to match with my markers. A simple embossed background set it all off.

Scatty Jan  I have made a card using lots of girly accessories from Dolly Daydream CD - there is so very much to choose from on there - its hard to decide which of the yumminess to use. I changed my mind so much xx
Debbi -Dollie is certainly 'In the Pink' on this card. I used the gorgeous new 'Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk' cd collection to make my card. I love that it has flowers that you can cut out a shape. I used the spiral roses and daisies...cute!! And Dollie is of course there looking very pretty in her pink dress :)
Anjie -  Instead if just doing a card with pink papers I thought I'd go with pink hair as well! The image, papers, sentiments and build a fleur are from the Dollie Daydream Girl Talk CD. The image is coloured with Graph'It Markers. I have made some rolled roses from the same papers and added a few die cuts.
The Graph'It's I used are:
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170, 4175
Hair: 5110, 5180, 7150, 7155, 7160
Clothes: 9107, 9106, 9105, 9104, 9103

Sally - Hi, Its in the Pink week!  So I thought I would use one of Emma Canning's new images, this cute little teddy! I coloured him pink, using my Graph'it markers and cut him out. I used a digi from a polkadoodle bundle and used my Pan Pastels to soften the edges. Mounted it on black card stock and then embossed white card with my button folder and then used my Pan Pastels in pink to enhance the designs. Then matted it on black cardstock.  Added a flower and buttons to finish the card. Cute eh?
Susan. This week I thought it would be nice to think of Spring for a change to all this wet and windy weather. So I have used every thing from Cherryblossom Lane ,this is such a sweet CD and so much to choose from and it could be that its on SALE!

So there's the inspiration for today!

Our challenge this week for you is, as always,

Anything Goes

but for the Design Team this week it is
New Beginnings

We hope you join in the challenge with us - you have until Thurs 16th Jan to enter and our random winner will be announced on Tues 21st Jan. The winner of this challenge will get a great download bundle worth £10!

Let's see what the team came up with for this challenge and you can see the winners of our last challenge at the bottom of the post : )

Anjie For my project this week I have made a gift box that will fit a few little baby onesies in. The image is New Baby by Emma Canning which is on the Digistamp Heaven CD Rom Collection, and is coloured with Graph 'It Markers. The papers are from the Boys Hoot Download Bundle. This bundle is great for quick cards as well as it contains: 10 coloured embellishments, 8 sentiments and 11 A4 patterned papers, and is an instant download. I have used a die cut banner, some ribbon bows some hearts and added some faux stitching for extra interest.

Scatty Jan For my project this week I have chosen New Baby awwwww - I have cut out some little baby shoes on my portrait using the wonderful paper from the Girls Hoot Collection - simply tied with some plain white ribbom - how cute xx

Debbi - Well, I can honestly say that 2013 has not been a very good year for me, in fact I can honestly say it has been an absolutely terrible year, but with 2014 now here I am determined to find the silver-lining in what ever I can. So with that in mind, for this weeks 'New Beginnings' project I have made a Positivity Jar. What's a Positivity Jar, I hear you ask. Pop over to my blog and I will tell you all about it.

Zoe - For me, the New Year gives me chance to wipe the slate clean and come up with new ideas & plans. So I made this sign to go in my craft room to remind me - I used the new and gorgeous Dollie Daydream collectionTwo of the sentiments created the background paper (both referring to shoes!) and then I used the stunning shoe which I printed three times so that I could decoupage it. I coloured each part using a mix of markers including Graph It's.

Katrina - My take on 'New Beginnings' is Weddings - this week I chose to work with some of the beautiful items from the new CD ROM Dollie Daydream Girl Talk - This is a first for me as it was all designed on my computer using my studio software and the CD ROM and then just printed off - I printed the topper twice and cut it to add depth and finished by adding some flowers and butterflies.

Susan I am using this fabulous New Collection Dollie Daydream Girl Talk .This is an amazing collection by the very talented Nikky ,
I have used elements from the Collection and taken it into Craft Artist to make this invitation

Jo - For my card this week I used the Camille mum to be digistamp coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Copics, and papers taken from the new Dollie Daydream collection (which I am in love with!) I love the white with black polkadots, so simple but really effective!
Sally - Hi there.  This week's challenge is new beginnings. So I thought I would cover my notebook, I always have a new one each year for my orders, things to do and of course a little bit of doodling.
I used the new Dollie Dream CD Rom and took papers, embellishments and girls into my Craft Artist programe. There I put together this cover for my note book. I then printed off some sentiments and adhered them to the front. There, it was so quick and easy.

So there's the inspiration for today!
I'm sure you'll agree that they're all superb makes again this week, love love love all the work these guys have put in!

The winner of our Week 10 Challenge was

#18 Mikha - well done, you've won £5 of downloads!
Please email us here to claim your prize!
Our Top 3 favourites from that week are:
#10 Danielle #12 Chrissy #18 Mikha

Digi Choosday Wk 9 ....Anything Goes challenge with a Ho Ho Ho!

Hi everyone - he's nearly here! Not many sleeps to go now!

Our challenge this week for you is, as always,
Anything Goes
but for the Design Team this week it is
Ho Ho Ho Christmas!
We hope you join in the challenge with us - you have until Thurs 26th Dec to enter and our random winner will be announced on Tues 31st Dec. The winner of this challenge will get a great download bundle worth £10 and our 3 runners up will also get downloads too!

Let's see what the team came up with for this challenge and you can see the winners of our last challenge at the bottom of the post : )

Anjie
For my card this week I have used the cute Emma Canning Deer Girl  image which is available as an instant download. I have coloured her with my Graph 'It Markers and then sprayed over it with some Graph'It Mix It Fluid which gives the effect that her clothes are wooly and fluffy. The papers are from the Christmas Joy Download Bundle which is also available as an instant download. This kit contains 38 individual elements which are:

  • 13 Coloured Embellishments
  • 10 Sentiments
  • 2 Borders
  • 13 x A4 Backing Papers (patterned)
I have cut the poinsettia from a template I have and added some cosmic shimmer for the centre. The snowflakes are cut using a Marianne D die.

For my project this week I decided to make a Christmas Tag , I love using lots of white and that owl is just cutest. You can find the owl and many more on the Christmas Joy download bundle already pre - coloured - I have used Distress Ink for just a touch of colour along with some ribbon and lace.
Sarah -I took the 'Ho Ho Ho' literally and made a card with Father Christmas on it!!  The image is an Emma Canning digi - Sooty Santa - coloured in with my ProMarkers.  I added some brick detail to the chimney pot after I'd coloured him in - cut him out with a Nestie, chalked for a background and dotted some glitter glue about for a bit of bling!  Papers are from Paper Boutique II and the ribbon, sentiment and embellishment from my stuff.
Zoe - This week I used the gorgeous Bauble Gown digi by Emma Canning as my main image to create a place card for my Christmas table. I coloured her with a mix of markers including Graph It's and added letters that I coloured to match as well as the sentiment ticket to finish it all off.
Debbi - Well, it's nearly time for the man in the red suit to visit us all, so this week I have made a cute little Santa gift bag and matching 'Ho Ho Ho' card using the Christmas Joy bundle. I used foam pads on most of the pieces to give a 3D effect.
Jo- For my project this week I had to use one of the cute pre-coloured toppers from the Christmas Joy bundle. I added some red gems to the owl's santa hat and combined some shop bought flowers with a rolled rose made from some of the left over paper I had printed, I didn't want to waste anything!
Sally - So here we are again! Ho Ho Ho! Santa will be here soon.  I chose  this cute owl from one of the digi bundles Christmas Joy and the backing paper and printed them out. So quick and easy. I cut out a scalloped circle using a Spellbinders die. I then matted the backing paper on some red cardstock. Cut out a bow and printed a sentiment from the Home for Christmas CD Rom and there it is.
Susan  My make this week is a Christmas decoration, I have used a cheap mdf  house which I painted with white gesso ,added some modelling paste for the snow ,red pleated ribbon and other bits n bobs.
the papers are from Christmas joy download bundle and the Christmas angel is from angelberrys digi download and coloured with Graph'it markers.
So there's the inspiration for today!
I'm sure you'll agree that they're all superb makes again this week, love love love all the work these guys have put in!

The random winner of our week 5 challenge is
No 37: Ellen - you won £5 of downloads woohoo!
and our Top 3 as voted by the team are:
No 3, Meg, No 11, Mirella and  No 31, KT Fit Kitty

So, let's take a look at the DT's fab makes...

Zoe - For this card I used the fabulous Emma Canning Christmas Pudding as my main image. I also used papers from the stunning Angelberry collection to create the background. I added some ribbon from my stash and also added the Christmas tickets which are also from the Angelberry collection. Simple matting and layering and a few gems finished it all off.

Anjie - The image is Christmas Pudding by the lovely Emma Canning. I have coloured her with my Graph 'it markers and added some cosmic shimmer dots to look like snow. The papers are from the Christmas Joy Download Bundle which has loads of fab papers and images in. I've then added a ginger bread man and a Christmas pudding as my food elements. I've also added some die cuts for extra pizazz.

Scatty Jan  Ohhhh yummy who doesn't like Ginger bread men! I made this little carton using my portrait and the Ginger bread men/ladies from the fabulous collection Christmas Joy - Added some Ribbons and twine , filled with tiny Gingerbread men an ideal little gift .
Sarah Hi everyone, I decided to go for something other than a card for this challenge.  I'm making fudge as presents this year and thought this would be a cute presentation box. I used a milk carton template from Paper boutique vol 1 and printed off two sheets of paper from Paper Boutique creative Christmas.  Unfortunately my printer is playing up a bit and printed a line through the paper - but I thought it looked fine so used it anyway!  My image is Emma Canning  - Christmas Pudding and coloured with my ProMarkers. I also printed off a Polkadoodles sentiment and highlighted it with chalks and glitter glue - a little bit of ribbon and the box is done!
Debbi - With all out Christmas crafting in full swing I thought I'd take a change in direction for all the Christmas Birthday people out there. And what better to have for your birthday than cake. I made this cute little cupcake box using the the Heart to Heart and Tail Feather bundles...yummy and between me and you, the cake was too ;)
Jo- I have also made a gift box using the cute toppers from Xmas Joy collection as my inspiration. I printed two of the toppers off and decoupaged the gingerbread lady, then tucked the sentiment tag just behind her ear. The green festive paper is from the same kit and I've added a bit of green ribbon to keep the gingerbread in, and me out lol!
Susan : Food glorious food ! who could resist a great big cupcake or a gingerbread man ?
I have used the cupcake digi stamp and enlarged it, then paper pieced to cover it .
The pattern paper and the topper are both from Christmas Joy and the sentiment is from Sentiments 1
Pop over to my blog for more inspiration .hugs and happy crafting Susan xx
Sally - Doesn't time fly! Its Digi Choosday again!  Today our challenge is Food Glorious Food. So I picked this lovely digi sentiment and Gingerbread Man from Christmas Joy. Printed him out added some fur to his hat and icing to his feet. Matted and layered the sentiment, inked the edges and adhered it to Mr. Gingerbread Man and then onto a Scalloped circle.  I had some backing paper left in my crafty stash from the Home for Christmas CD Rom and matted that onto some red cardstock. That is it folks!

Kevin This week I have made a note book using this gorgeous image called Maisie Baker from Polkadoodles she is coloured with my Graph'It markers....
So there's the inspiration for today!
I'm sure you'll agree that they're all superb makes again this week, love love love all the work these guys have put in!

Remember you do NOT have to use our products (although obviously we would love it if you did) , just add your entry to Mr Linky below (you have until Thursday 19th Dec to enter and the winner will be announced on our Week 10 post Tues 23rd Dec) and pinch our badge for your blog sidebar - we'll see you back here on Friday for our usual Polkadoodles challenge....

Scatty Jan For todays project I have made a door hanger using - The Christmas Joy Download bundle Which I absolutly love  - there is so much on there it gives me lots of inspiration - This will hang proudly on my Granddaughters door handle  :-)
Zoe - This week's DT challenge made me think of shopping. The happiness of hearing Christmas songs in the shops and, if you're a bit daft like me, the enjoyment of trying on Christmas jumpers & accessories!! So I used the fun Emman Canning Deer Girl image and some papers from the Angelberry Collection. I took them into Serif Craft Artist Pro to create this double sided folded project. It's a list or reminder for when I go Christmas shopping to write down what I still need to buy! Once printed out, I coloured the digital image with a mix of markers including Graph It's.

Anjie - For my card this week I have used the Christmas Joy Download Bundle which is available as an instant download so you can get crafting straight away! This kit contains 13 coloured embellishments, 10 sentiments, 2 borders and 13 A4 backing papers. So is amazing value at just £3.99!
Debbi - For this weeks challenge I have made a bottle gift tag using the Christmas Joy bundle, which also incorporates a little pocket to add a little extra gift...well it is Christmas :)
Sarah - I thought I'd try White on White this week, it's a lovely image and thought it didn't really need any papers distracting from it! The image is Angelberry Hugs, coloured with my ProMarkers and I then used various dies, embossing folders, glitter on her wings and some ribbon to finish the card.
Susan - This week it feels a lot like Christmas on Digi Choosday. The theme is Christmas Cheer and what could be better than a glass of pink champers (well one can dream) I have used Fredericka Debutante this week and coloured her with Graph'it markers and the papers are from Christmas Joy bundle. For the full list of what I used please pop over to my blog, Hugs and Happy Crafting xxx
Jo- For my project this week I used the Deer Girl digi from Emma Canning, coloured with my ProMarkers, and two of the more traditional papers from the Christmas Joy bundle. The sentiment comes with the Christmas Joy kit too! I had to add the jingle bell as it is pure Christmas cheer xx
Kevin For my project this week I have used this gorgeous Topper and papers from the Christmas Joy Download Bundle
Sally - Hi there.  Christmas Cheer is our challenge this week. So I thought I would use one of the Greetings from Here Comes Christmas CD Rom, backing paper from Home for Christmas CD Rom and part of Emma Canning's digi images Time for Tea.  I Printed off the sentiment and coloured the holly in, pan pastelled around the edge. Cut out the head and hands, coloured him in using Promarkers, attached him to the sentiment, matt and layered it on to a Spellbinder die cut and then adhered it to the backing paper.  There we have it.
So there's the inspiration for today!
I'm sure you'll agree that they're all superb makes again this week, love love love all the work these guys have put in!

Remember you do NOT have to use our products (although obviously we would love it if you did) , just add your entry to Mr Linky below (you have until Tuesday 19th Nov to enter and the winner will be announced on our Week 6post Tues 26th Nov) and pinch our badge for your blog sidebar - we'll see you back here on Friday for our usual Polkadoodles challenge....

The winner of this challenge will win 5 free downloads! woohoo!
You have until Tuesday 3rd December to enter and the winner will be announced on 10th December.
Right, let's see what the team have made this week - good luck everyone!

Debbi - Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in America. I had so much fun making these cute little pumpkins for a table decoration using the Boys Hoot and Tail Feather collection. Every other panel was embossed  and I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to highlight.
Zoe - I took inspiration for this challenge by reading up on Thanksgiving and learning about the parades, music and traditions. I thought I'd create an album cover ready to add pages to, full of those photos people take during celebrations. I used Emma Canning's Band Camp image to represent the music and parades. I coloured her with a mix of markers including the fabulous Graph It's. I used paper, washi tape & elements from my stash. That's the beauty of digital images you can make them work with whatever you have!
Sarah - I must admit to being challenged by the challenge this week.  I've never made a Thanksgiving card before - but I got my thinking cap on and came up with this.  I used a pre-coloured pumpkin image from the Witchie Witchie 2013 download bundle (shows how versatile this set can be!) and simply copied and pasted it twice more to create the three pumpkins.  I then cut the image out with a nestie, popped it onto 3d foam over a scrap of paper that I'd printed out from a previous card, added some twine, buttons and stamped a sentiment.
Scatty Jan  For my Thanksgiving project I have used the lovely image by Emma canning - Christmas Dinner....Coloured with promarkers and an extra Turkey cut on my portrait.Yummy I cant wait for my Turkey xx
Susan - I have to admit my mind just through a blank for this challenge, but that's why it called
a challenge! So I thought that I'd have a go with craft artist and this is the outcome. The papers are from the amazing Digi collection Christmas Joy and the image is Christmas Dinner. Coloured with Graph'it markers. Just can't wait to see all the amazing entries and good luck everyone  xxx
Cara....I also chose to use the adorable Emma Canning image Christmas Dinner for my Thanksgiving card.  I coloured her with my Graph'it markers of course and used papers from the Christmas Joy Download Bundle.
Sally - Hi here is my Digi Choosday Challenge card- Happy Thanksgiving.  Being a Brit married to an American, we celebrate Thanksgiving, have some friends or family over and have a Roast Turkey Dinner with all the American trimmings! (Not as good as our Christmas Dinner). I have chosen one of Emma Canning's digi images with a Turkey as that is what it is all about!  I coloured her with Graph'it markers and added liquid accents to the turkey to make him look like he has just come out of the oven, glitter to her hair and boots. I matted her on some backing papers from the Home for Christmas CD Rom and some gold cardstock from my crafty stash.
So there's the inspiration for today!
I'm sure you'll agree that they're all superb makes again this week, love love love all the work these guys have put in!

Remember you do NOT have to use our products (although obviously we would love it if you did) , just add your entry to Mr Linky below (you have until Tuesday 3rd December to enter and the winner will be announced on our Week 8 post Tues 10th Dec) ...we'll see you back here on Friday for our usual Polkadoodles challenge....
