So, let's see the inspiration from the team for this week!Rachael - Hi everyone! I'm back this week with another card using the new Pretty Flower dies - I just can't get enough of them they're so lovely. This one is called Pretty Blossoms - snap these up they are so versatile, I'll be using this as Christmas flowers this year too!
Julie- Birthday was our Design Team theme, and I decided to stray away from the traditional cute little animals and go with some hard core reality using an image from The Old Bags collection. This “Embarrassing Moment” pairs up perfectly with sentiments from the collection. The background features a “rip & tear” technique with pattern papers from Painting & Decorating Bundle combined with a little gold splatter, an embossing folder and a pretty bow. This is what 50 looks like - it really is… Happy Crafting! My Blog, Instagram, Facebook
Taty - Hi everyone, today I'm sharing my new DT inspiration. I created a greeting card featuring the Baked You A Cake stamp, colored with Prismacolor pencils. Here are the pencil numbers: dress 1009-1008-934, hair 944-937-1031, bows 1038, cake 989-289. For the background, I used white cardstock, embossed it with a flower-themed folder, and then applied gold paste to the raised flowers. On the left side of the card, I added a pink border, and in the bottom corner, I embellished it with sprigs and small flowers, keeping the same colors as the dress. I wish you lots of creativity.
Terri- Hello lovely crafters, Terri here with a spooky, Halloween themed Birthday card! This card would be perfect for any fans of cutesy Halloween vibes, or who has a birthday close to Halloween.
I made the cauldron shaped card by using a 6.5 ish inch circular die and a 7 inch top folding card blank. I adhered the die to the card blank so it was hanging over the edge and had about 1-1.5 inches of the top of the card that wouldn’t be cut. I marked out carefully where the 3 cauldron legs and the bottom of the cauldron would be (by lightly tracing the circle die and sketching the legs until I was happy with them) in pencil, then placed that end outside of the cutting sandwich so it wouldn’t get cut.
When my shaped card was cut, I carefully trimmed around the drawing of the legs and the bottom of the cauldron, on the front of the card, traced through that onto the back of the card and then trimmed that.
I created 3 more cauldron shapes using the circle die and tracing around the bottom portion, using thick white card - 2 for the top, adhered together (which would stand up as it is an easel card) and one for the inside, which I colourised to look like the inside of the cauldron, using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides and Lightning Black Brilliance Dew Drop ink around the edges.
I also freehand sketched an opening for the top of the cauldron. Once I was happy with it I traced over it carefully with an archival ink pen. I then drew around the outside of this and later glued one behind the other with the cauldron front sandwiched in between. I decorated the front of the cauldron using Tsukineko Brilliance Metallic Dew drop ink pads in Lightning Black, Cosmic Copper, galaxy gold and platinum planet. I used some finger dauber sponges to make rounded swipes of colour to create the illusion of a rounded cauldron and blending brushes for the rest of the ink blending. I also used very tiny brushes for the inks on the cauldron lids. Later I used the sentiment as a stopper to hold the front of the easel card in place. I used a small sentiment die and stamped, then heat embossed the sentiment on one of the die cuts and cut about 4-5 more to adhere underneath to give it the required height. I also colourised the edges with leftover inks from the finger daubers.
The star of the show is the Pumpkin Witch Gnome digital stamp. I created a scene with some Halloween Polkadoodles stamp sets from my stash (which are all on sale), so it looked like the Gnome Witch was hosting a Halloween party. The sentiment is from Monster Messages, the pumpkins are from Pick of the Patch, the Cat is from Boneshakin Halloween, the Cute Ghost and mug are from the Fang-tastic stamp set, the small eyeball is from Freaky Little Monsters and the large eyeball, spider and monster are from Funky Little Monsters.
I coloured the images using Copics and used the following blends/parts of the blend for the majority of the images. Dress: BV04, BV02, BV00; Pumpkins & hair (+YR21): E09, YR18, YR14, YR12; Cloak: G99, G94, G82, YG03; Potion: G99, YG45, YG07, YG03, YG01.
This card was soo much fun to make! And to think that just a few years ago I wasn’t a fan of Halloween! I hope you enjoy this make as much as I enjoyed creating it. Happy Crafting and see you soon with more crafty inspiration! Terri xx
