Julie Nagle - This week’s Design Team Challenge was to create a card using an object from PolkaDoodles digital images to create a September Birthday Card. So many options - whatever would I choose?! My Son’s birthday is in September so instantly I thought of him. Last year he spent his birthday in Nova Scotia, Canada which led to the creation of this card. The Lighthouse from Winnie Starfish/Sandcastles proved to be just perfect for the background technique I had planned to apply to this card. I blended using PolkaDoodles Blending Brushes with tones of blue/green distress inks onto the background using a random pebble stencil for the water, and a tea colored ink for sandy beach. A pallet knife and Grit paste allowed me to mimic the crashing waves at the shoreline of the lighthouse. I Sea it’s Your Birthday was the perfect sentiment for this charming coastal creation. Wendy - For today's challenge, I tried something a little different. I used a pre-colored image. I absolutely adore the stunning colors on thIS Fantasy Moon image and wanted to use it on my card. I did pull some of the colors from the image to create a soft, simple background using my Copic markers. I also added Wink of Stella (on the moon) and some Unicorn Pearls. I love how it turned out! Thank you for looking!

Blue - BG0000, B0000, B000, B00, 0
Pink - RV0000, RV000, RV10, 0
Purple - V0000, V000, V01, 0
Green - YG0000, G20, G40, 0
Merja - On my card I used Autumn/Fall digi stamp set that includes both black/white and coloured versions of autumn themed images. I used the black/white versions of mushrooms and coloured them with Distress Inks and alcohol markers. I added glossy accents and white gel pen over the spots. I also printed some precoloured leaves. The background paper is from Autumn Fall papers 3 set. I added a sentiment over it in a text editor program before printing it. Then I added the mushrooms and leaves using tape and foam tape to create some dimension.
