Week 48 Challenge - All About The Sentiment

*PLEASE NOTE: We will not leave comments or include entries which do not follow our challenge rules! Please ensure you follow the challenge instructions and do NOT enter more than 10 challenges to be included!*

I can't believe how the time flies! Yes indeed it's another challenge day at Polka Doodles and it's my (Claire) turn to set you a challenge. I have decided on "All about the sentiment".

I think it's something that sometimes gets missed these day when we create our projects. So I would like the sentiment to be the focal point of your creation!

Before we share all the inspiration from the Design Team this week we need to announce the winners from the blog hop challenge! Some fabulous projects for the 'give thanks challenge'. Thanks to all of our loyal and new challengers who took part (I hope you checked Tuesday's post to see if you were a lucky hopper at one of the stops)

The winners of the Give Thanks challenge are:

First Place: Rose
Second Place: Dianne
Third Place: Ruby

Congratulations! Please e-mail Nikky for further details!

This week we are thrilled to welcome our first Guest Designer member Cheryl who will be working alongside Ashley and Audrey on a rota for the next 6 months.

Cheryl - I have used, the Sundae of Seasons CD for the sentiment and also the papers. I have added 3d foam pads, and adhered the sentiment to a doilie, then I have added doodle dewdrops around the main sentiment. I have used added a ribbon, button, then finally added another sentiment from the same CD along the bottom of the card.

Enfys: I used Sundae of Seasons for my card. The unusual shape was cut with my Cricut from the brown gingham paper. I printed the sentiment out and added one 'real' button over the paper one just to give it some dimension. The tiny coffee cups are black and white stampies from the cd, I just coloured the handles, then gave them a coat of gloss.

Ruth: Another simple card from me this week! One of my cousins who lives near Edinburgh has just become a Daddy for the first time so here is the card that will be making its way through the snowy north to them! I've used the sentiment from Sundae of Seasons and then layered it with ribbon and buttons from my stash plus some seed beads underneath.
Saskia - This one's for the boys! I love the Retro Robots and Superhero papers from the Not For Girls cd-rom!

Brenda - I love using sentiments as the focal point of cards, so really enjoyed making this for Claire challenge. I used a sentiment and papers from Sundae of Seasons CD, matted the sentiments using Nesties and cut out nine of the daisies, held them together with a brad and spritzed liberally with Glimmer Mist marshmallow.

lis-m. I have used strips of the yummy polka dot papers from the Sundae of seasons cd , stitched these all then since I am in a Kraft card phase I stamped my sentiment on this. Just Because is sentiment from the Polkadoodles stamp range. Added the layered up butterflies from the Sundaes cd. Then I added a few blue pearls, just a simple card, but quite effective.

Jenny: I've used the new Sensational Sentiments Stamp Sheet for my sentiment and frame and I've made my own floral backing paper using the dandelion stamp from the Garden Neighbours Stamp Sheet onto paper from Love and Cherish. I've added pink organza ribbon and a small amount of colouring detail with Promarkers.

Tracy - I wanted to show how you can use the blank sentiment scalloped circles, from Sundae Of Seasons on this challenge theme. I used my own stamp for the sentiment, the blue gingham is from Sugar Birdies and I stamped my own little nappy pins on. The bottom paper, bow, and baby are all from Sundae of Seasons.

Tasha - I love this sentiment, it's so cute! It is from the All Around Everywhere CD. The papers, scalloped circle and funky flowers are all from Paper Boutique Vol 1, from the funky flower section. I then distressed the edges and added some glitter.

Claire I decide to made an altered gift box for my project. My blank box came from Ikea and all embellies and the all important sentiment is from The Sundae of Seasons cd with only some added stickles for sparkle. It's photographed on some pure white Scottish snow.....

Colette - Now, ahem, mmmmm, not sure how to say this, but, I used the - Not for Girls Definitely for Men CD to make a card for - ooooooh here goes.... a girl!!!!!!! I hope this is not a sackable offence LOL!, although in my defence it does go to show the versatility of Nikky's fab disks! The sentiment is one I found on the web a while ago. I printed the letters using the Earwig Alphies, which were then layered to different heights with foam pads, the Alphies, wine glass and bottle, and striped and checked paper (used for the roses) all came from the ~whisper~ Not For Girls CD. The whole sentiment is set back in a little box frame that's cut into the card, the bottle and glass are shaped and layered, and the paper roses and a glittery bow finish it off.

Tracie - I used the fab Scooter section from Not for Girls CD to create this Mod themed acetate fronted card

Emma Hiya, I am having a bit of an altered art phase at the moment so I decided to make a hanging ornament to decorate my home during the festive season. I used elements from the Christmas Doodles Rubber Stamp Plate and some acrylic paints to decorate this miniature picture frame.

Good luck! Looking forward to visiting your creations and reading all those sentiments! Please do remember that only new projects combining up to ten challenges and following the set theme will be considered for prizes. You have until Sunday 12th December at 12noon GMT to enter.
