It's Enfys here this week - the team decided to let Nikky off the hook since she has been busy signing autographs, being interviewed for Hello and OK magazines, and being mobbed in the street. Did you see her live show? Wasn't she a breath of fresh air? We are so proud of her here at the Polkadoodley headquarters. Well done Nikky. If you missed it, they are repeating the show a few times over the weekend, so check Create and Craft online to get the times
Thanks to you all who took part in last week's challenge, we had a hard time as usual deciding the winners, but here they are:
in third place -
Lynda
and in joint first place
Katesacraftybugger
and
Bohemian Gypsy
Well done to you all. Email Nikky and she will be in touch
So on to this week. The team all used the cherry papers/elements from the Sugar Birdie CD, and had to make a card with a hidden element. So this is what we challenge you to do this week
Make a card/project with any fruit on it, and have a hidden element somewhere on your project
So here is your peek at what the DT came up with...
Here's Lou's card for this week, isn't it just cherry-licious? I love the way she photographed it outside on grass as well, makes it look so fresh
this photo shows how the little hidden element pulls out.......
and here it is, the sweetest little tag, it's really dimensional too, Lou used three layers of popdots on this
TipTop (Ruth) got the inspiration for her card from a one arm bandit, how clever is that?
The cherries swing back to reveal the jackpot.............
.................this ultra-yummy cupcake
well, you could just eat it couldn't you? She distressed the edges of her circles using a dried up black ink pad that had just enough juice left in to do the job. Looks great.....
Here's Kath, who in her usual fabulous way, has produced a fun, simple and stylish card that's totally 0n-trend. Don't you love the bold lettering? The sweet little velvet ribbon unties to reveal...........
the sweetest of messages!
Here's Kerry's lovely offering this week. She made an extra card attached to the front, and cunningly matched it into the background, using a clear acetate photo anchor and a cherry red brad to hold it in place........
and on the inside, here's Polly - lots of clever features in this card
Just look at this tin that Saskia made, full of cherry decorated coasters, Wouldn't this be a great pressie to take with you instead of a bottle of wine and flowers to thank a hostess - well, okay then, you can take the vino, just leave the flowers behind and take the gorgeous little tin
Two treats from Saskia this week, look at all the detail on her beautifully crafted card. Don't the cherries look yummy in the middle of that huge flower? Her hidden element is a 'card within a card', so a lovely surprise for the lucky person who receives this one
Here's mine. I cut a cherry shaped card using my Cricut machine and the Hello Kitty cartridge, and added diamond glaze to the cherries to make them nice and glossy, then popped a little ladybird tag on. Oddly enough, the card does stand quite nicely on it's own little rounded bottom..
I lined the back of the card with Sugar Birdies cherry paper in case Nikky told me off for not using enough polkadoodly goodies...........
and my hidden element - I cut two extra cherries and hinged them with a brad so that they swing open to reveal the birthday message
So that's it for this week, I am totally exhausted and off to M & S for a kilo bag of those huge sweet cherries they sell at huge prices - hey, I deserve it. So I'll leave you to do your fruity cards, and I am making a personal plea to you all to enter this week, otherwise everyone will think it's me being a rubbish blog cheerleader. You have until midday on Wednesday (7.00 am EST if you are in the USA) Team doodle will see you all later in the week when we come by to admire your work.
Have fun! xx
