..well today has finally arrived and perhaps a little too quickly for some of us (ie me!) but hello and welcome to the very first of our spanking good challenges my dears!!!...
We all hope the challenges, sketches and cards we post help to inspire you and make you wanna stroke and USE that lovely stash that we all know each and every one of us has sitting in our houses piled high to the rafters!!
And I know you will all agree that the rather fab Team Doodle has done an awesome job for the first challenge (bless their smelly tights they only actually had a couple of days to do these as someone, cough cough, was rather behind in supplying images etc etc) so they've done fantastically well to turn out such fab creations under presh. And I love the way they are all SO different which is exactly why I chose the team I did. I'd also just like to say an enormous thanks again to everyone who entered and wasn't selected, I'm really sorry (keep waking up with night sweats over it) but it was a hard choice to make and please submit again next time my crafty friends.
Right, on with the exciting stuff...
We couldn't let this most auspicious (big word) occasion go uncelebrated so we have some great blog candy to give away to one very lucky winner - so leave us a comment after this post and we will select a random winner on 31st May! This candy includes: KI Memories papers and embellies, inkpads, stamps, glitter galore and loads and loads, can't remember it all now but I reckon there's at least £80 nickers worth. Well worth having.
Ok, ok, challenge time!
Here is the very first polkadoodle doodle! You need to follow the sketch and can use whatever you wish for this one but please link back to the sketch here. To submit your entries please leave a comment with your link to your entry - we will select our Top 3 Entries each Thursday so come on, get posting!!!
The team have all used papers and elements from our brand new Polka Doodles Sugar Birdies range which is available for PRE-ORDER now on either CD-Rom or as Downloads - release date will be 29th May so order now to ensure yours is winging it's way to you pronto.
By the way, don't forget you can also set the team a challenge - any good suggestions posted in the comments will be noted and if we choose one of yours there could be a little preshy thing in the post for you. mmmmm.....stash.......enjoy.........
by Jozza.... clever use of the sketch by turning it upside down here, like the distressed edges and the little stitched rip is a niiice touch...glossy accents on the cupcake icing to make it look scrummy...
by Kirsty Wiseman...fab corner turn on this lovely sugary pink design, love the little charm hanging from the pin, nice touch...
by Saskia...love the use of felt and adore the little scallop turnover corner. The flower has 2 layers to give it depth...
by Sue Ramsay...a really girlie card with lovely colours and the lace adds an extra element to pull it all together. Love the brads and little flowers...
by nikkyfoofoo...used 4 different slices of paper & sanded down all the edges, re-inking them with pink and then black to add extra definition. Double tied ribbon and coloured flower brad with white opaque pen to tie it in.
by Michelle... love the double ribbons and the doodles around the scallop frame, lots of lovely glittery stickles!
by Enfys...gorgeous colour choice and really like the zig zag frames - a nice change from our scallop madness! A very refreshing card - notice the wavy stitching, great if you can't sew straight, so don't try too hard!!
by Maggie...great use of monotone colours showing sometimes less is more! Flower has been edged on the petals.
by Lou...fab use of fabrics and acetate in the aperture, inside mirrors the outer, note the little pin on the message...
by Krista...great colour choice can make a card really cheerful, double layered scallops and love the big embellishments...
by Kerry...a great male birthday card to show men's cards don't always need a theme, the key is in the colour choices...
Pheweee! Well I'm sure you will all agree these are some great ideas and creations, so now you just have to leave us a comment so we can add you to the blog candy draw! ...
