Week 16 Challenge - Spots and Stripes

It's Friday again so it's another Polkadoodle Challenge! And for the next 4 weeks I (Ruth) will be hosting the challenges, so if you don't like the themes, it's all my fault - you can blame me! For weeks 17, 18 and 19 I will also be posting a tutorial on how I made my item - these will be published just before that week's challenge and I hope they will provide inspiration and guidance!

However, I will go easy on you. See how nice I am?! The Polkadoodles Challenge is already upto week 16. Time flies when you are having fun eh?!

Before I tell you about this weeks Challenge, I need to announce the winners from week 14 - it was quality rather than quantity so it was very difficult for the DT to pick their winner so you all deserve a round of applause!

In third place: Shirley
In second place: Eiyiyi
And the winner is: Dolly

Congratulations ladies - please email Nikky for your blinkies and further details (she is currently experiencing very bad and nasty computer problems so there may be a delay in responding)

For this week, I challenged the Design Team with a theme of

Spots and Stripes

The DT could use any of the Polkadoodles CD's (Sugar Birdies, Candy Doodles, Jingle Jangle Christmas) or downloads as I already had my eye on the Halloween download to use! If you want more detail on how the DT made their creations, just click on their name.

I used the Halloween download as I love the grungy papers and the spooky sentiments! Decided not to use an image and to keep the card fairly simple. For my spots I made some cute fimo spiders with wobbly eyes!

Kath has used elements from Jingle Jangle Christmas. The cute podgy robin has been decoupaged to give an extra dimension to the card. Isn't this a lovely bright card? The doodling just finishes it off nicely!

Kris has created a funky snow globe and used papers and elements from Jingle Jangle Christmas. More cute animals - this time the owls. And for sparkly effect, Kris has added dimensional paint and glitter on the trees.

And more owls! Saskia has also created a shaped card for the challenge with a house theme made with papers from Jingle Jangle Christmas. She has cleverly folded the paper to give the impression of roof tiles, and has decorated the inside of the card (something I really must do more often!)

Claire has also used the Halloween download with the spiders dangling by acetate. I do like the spooky styling! Polly looks like a mischievous witch sitting on her pumpkin - I wonder what spells she is creating?!

Kerry has creatively used Jingle Jangle Christmas and made a stocking with a pom pom trim and the elegant reindeer. The lettering tiles are also from the cd and perfectly match the backing papers
Boni has also used Jingle Jangle Christmas but gone for a frosty blue theme which really works well with the reindeer. All the paper based elements you see here are from the cd and the ribbon and sparkly gems just finish it all off nicely!

Don't forget you have until Sunday 13 September at 12noon GMT to enter this challenge and you simply have to add a link to your creation on this post to be in with a chance to win!
Good luck and I can't wait to see your interpretation of my challenge!
