The winner of the challenge is chosen at random and will receive a fab digi bundle from the store, together with 3 runners up who will all receive a digi too! Awesome sauce!

SO, lets see what the Design Team have for you this week...

Ria: For my Flower Power card I used Seashore Shannon and the sentiment comes from the WP1 collection. I coloured her with Copics- Spectrum Noir and Stylefile markers and enhanced with pencils. I used a mini border die, lacy chrysanthemum and primrose flourish die by Tattered Lace.

Anjie - The papers and all the flowers are from the fabulous Rose Budd CD, this is also available as a download if you can't wait for the post. I have printed out and cut out (by hand) lots and lots of lush flowers then emphasised the black outline with a marker pen. I then shaped all the flowers using a ball tool. I added some faux stitching to the paper and a few die cuts to finish it off.

Anita - Hi there I just loved this challenge the flowers all came from the Winston cd-rom back to the old days of hand cutting them ... so relaxing ... the backing paper has come from the pretty sweet cd-rom. image I have chose to you is Maddie Shy and she is adorable coloured with Alcohol markers.

Yvonne -  Hello there! I decided to use this great digi stamp this week for the challenge, but don't fret if you don't use markers, this greta digi also comes as a precoloured image too!! You can see both of them here.  The sentiment is from the Rose Budd Collection. I coloured with my Graph'It Markers, a full list is on my blog.

Jenny - Hi there, this is my idea for Flower Power. I decided to revisit the Dollie Goes East collection for my card.   I printed out a backing paper twice so I could make a flowery frame. Full details on my blog.

Lou: For my flower power card, I have used the Winston Deluxe CD. Etty is Winston's friend and I have used a precoloured image which I have layered up putting her on to a backing plate (found on the same CD). I have then added lots of flowers and a cute butterfly. The sentiment and backing paper are from the same CD too.

Wow - Amazing inspiration from the Design team this week - aren't these all beautiful makes!!!

Please do not forget, there are a maximum of 2 entries per person.

Have a fabulous week everyone.

Design Team Call

INTERNATIONAL DESIGN TEAM CALL X 2 TEAMS

We are very excited to announce that we are looking for some additional talented crafters to join our Design Team so if you would love to be involved with the team please read our criteria below and contact us!

We are looking for more than one person and we specifically need people from around the globe who can colour using alcohol markers, pencils or distress inks (any brand) and people with a variety of skills. You MUST be willing to use digital products and love crafting with characters whilst also be able to showcase other styles of cards and projects too.
WE HAVE DIFFERENT POSITIONS TO FILL:
1. We are looking for people who use ALL social media and blogs to take part in our CHALLENGE TEAM. It is a pre-requisite that you MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE BLOG to be on the challenge team.
2. We are also looking for people for our FACEBOOK TEAM. This is a new team and members will be expected to take part in all our Facebook activity, including a weekly challenge, regular Facebook events and a busy posting schedule.
When you apply please state which team you wish to apply for - we have a couple of vacancies on both teams.

At Polkadoodles we are first and foremost a business and our challenge blog and promotions support that, so we require more input than a 'hobby-type' blog where you would have sponsors that change from week to week - being on our team means you are valued and will be expected to work hard during your time with us, but you can also obtain great exposure for your creativity and we have opportunities for sample making and other projects along the way too.

We make a variety of products from downloadable digi stamps, printables, digital CD collections to die cut sheets, digi stamps and clear and rubber stamps, not to mention lots of other things we do and make.
We are always on the lookout for exceptional creative talent that can help us make our products look great and help to promote the Polkadoodles brand.

We do have some stringent requirements for our teamies but if you can manage the following we'd love to hear from you:

1. You must be able to commit long term to a very busy team - many people underestimate how important this is, we're not interested in people who flit from team to team to gain new stash or having no staying power, we commit to you and so we need that commitment back.

You will be given a 3 month term initially with a review to joining us permanently after this period.
2. You must be able to complete projects on time to deadline - deadline failure is a BIG no no!
3. Commitment:
Challenge Team: We need you to make a minimum of one project every week during your time on the team.  You will also be expected to: actively promote our brand on Facebook in our Facebook groups, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and your own blog - a blog is an absolute must-have.  Being active on Social media is a pre-requisite to being on our team (you don't have to do ALL of these).
You will be expected to leave comments using our rota system for people who enter our challenges and to vote weekly.
Facebook Team: We need you to make a minimum of one project every week during your time on the team.  You will also be expected to: actively promote our brand as part of our events on Facebook in our Facebook groups, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and your own blog if you have one.  Being active on Social media is a pre-requisite to being on our team (you don't have to do ALL of these).
You will be expected to leave comments using our rota system for people who enter our challenges and to vote weekly. If you are a great colourist you may not need to make an actual card project if we think your colouring is suitable to promote in the way we need.
4. We look for variety within the team so it's not always about having the best of everything in one person - we want to show how versatile our products are so we look for people with different skills....so if you fancy applying but don't really consider yourself a colour expert, please still apply - you don't know what we're looking for so please don't assume you're not it!
5. Skill level - you need to be of a suitable skill level and be capable of good composition in your projects.  Projects need to be finished to a high standard.
6. Colouring skills - not a pre-requisite for our team but we love it if you're and awesome colourer!
7. Photos - you MUST be able to take good photos of your work.  Your photos represent our products and they need to be a good standard to showcase them properly.  We can help with this if needed.

It's hard to say what we're looking for in terms of the style we're looking for, but we need a high standard of work at all times - if you can produce to similar standards like the ones on this blog we would love to see your work.  You need to be able to create a project from scratch and to be able to think outside the page to include home decor, scrap layouts etc etc - we need versatility from our team.  So, it doesn't matter if you like fussy or clean and simple, it's about the overall composition and skill level you can present.  We sell SVG cutting files and digital papers and kits, so you must also be prepared to used your printer!  If you don't like printing your own papers then please don't apply as this will be required (our papers are not expensive to print because of the way we design). You will be generously rewarded with products to use during your time on the team in return for your hard work and commitment - the more work you do for us the more you will be rewarded.  We may also require our UK people to submit physical samples for our TV shows from time to time, so be prepared for some extra work too!

Most of all - we need people who ADORE craft and live and breathe for it.  We want people who are always looking to improve their skills and who are team players in it for the long haul.
So if this is you, email us with why you wanna be in the team, your blog address and examples of some work, we'd love to see them!  email us at: sales@polkadoodles.co.uk
Closing date: 7th February 2015 or until all positions are filled
All entries will be replied to after the call has closed - we will create a shortlist in the first instance.
You will receive an email by the end of February.

You have until 12 noon, GMT, Friday 30 January to enter.
You don't have to use Polkadoodles products to enter our challenges.
The rules are in the side bar over there ------>

The random winner of this challenge will receive a copy of our Work & Play 8 collection on download! Wow! And our top 3 Design Team favourites will all win a digi too!

And now for the Design Team Inspiration and don't forget, check out who they
Cased too :-)

Ruth:  I've CASE'd Susan from back in August - the original post is here.  I've used the female horse rider from Work and Play 6 and coloured them with Promarkers.  The fence and grass are Sizzix die cuts and I made the rosette myself - numbers are Cuttlebug die cuts.

Ria: The card I case'd is from Anjie and you can find it here... For my card I used Maddy Shy and coloured her with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers and enhanced with pencils. The papers that I used are from the Work and Play 1 collection.  The dies that I used are the watercan and Happy Birthday sentiment dies by Tattered Lace.

Anita .... I have cased Ruth way back in July and you can find her card here ...
I have used Work and play collection 2 backing papers and gamer boy and he is also available as a digi image here, I coloured him using alcohol markers and I had a lot of fun and this is my make..

Anjie - I have chosen to CASE a card from the week 47 challenge HERE which was CAS. Now I love all the cards of course but 2 in particular stood out for me, I couldn't get it down to one as they are both very similar and both fab. The cards are by our lovely ladies Bev and Yvonne, and here is my take on it. I have used the fabby Phone/Texter guy image. He is also available on the Work & Play collection 7 which is available as a download or a CD. He of course is coloured with my Graph'It Markers.

Yvonne - Hi everyone, well once I realised I wasn't making a case, I really liked this challenge!! I kept coming back to a make that the lovely Lou made in our 'Tag You're It' Challenge.  You can see the original masterpiece here.  It is the most lovely delicate tag made using embellies and stuff from the gorgeous 'Winston Bear Collection'.  I made quite a large tag but I opted to put 'Etty Sewing' precoloured off of the Collection, however, you can also get her here as a digi image.  So I opted to use Etty and then I printed and cut heaps of the embellies, as Lou did but mostly different embellies and added them to the tag! The paper is also from the collection. All that I had to add was the lace and the gems.

Bev here and for this weeks challenge I climbed inside Cheremane's head ('Anything But Square' challenge back in October) I tried to leave it as I found it.... I loved this challenge as I've been struggling with my mojo since Christmas so putting my spin on an existing project was a great help and has helped ease me back in. I used the Guitar Girl image from the incredible new W&P 8 collection she's also available as a digi HERE. I coloured her with my Graph'it Markers (full details on my blog). The card base is just cut from Kraft card all the backing paper, bow, embellies and sentiment are from the CD . All I've added from my own crafty stash is embossed pink card. a black glittery peel off, distress ink and a gem.

Jenny here, for my case it card I've used a card made by Lou way back in May last year. She made a circular card with circular embellishments and that is what I've used for my inspiration. I have used the brand new collection W&P9 Love and Kisses it's a great collection and so easy to use.

Susan - I am using Caras lovely Tag from the Tag It challenge week 37 as my CASE It inspiration this week. I have used Papers and an image from the new Work & Play 8 collection  and printed everything on Ultimate Graph'it 160 gm paper

Frezja - hi all :) I have for you today Anna's card (clic) in frezja's version :)
I am using Rose Budd CD and Winston CD. I hope you like it :)
More picks on the blog :)

Claire C - I've taken my inspiration from Lou's hoover card for our Anything but square challenge in October (you can find it here). I loved the way Lou had used household stuff to embellish her card and I also loved the idea using the embellishments on the CD as a base card, its so easy to do as you just enlarge the size of the image ! I've used images from Work and Play 8 to make this card and added an old CD and some bottletops to embellish the card.

Aren't they just amazing!  Love all the fabulous interpretations this week.

Now without further ado - here is the winner, as chosen by random org, from our
 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

CASE IT!
We would like you to choose a project made either by yourself, or by someone else (the Design Team are happy for you to choose ours but of course you can case anyone you like so long as you have permission!)....the whole idea of this is to then use that project to create your own version, using it as inspiration (not copying!).

SO, lets see what the Design Team have for you this week...

Scatty Jan - For my case it project , I have used the colours Red/Beige from Yvonne's first post for Polkadoodles back in June , You can find it here  - I have used the lovely image Violin Girl from Work and Play 8, the paper and violins and Music sheet also from the collection - Violin Girl is also available as a digi you can find her here - I have coloured her using Graph'It Markers

Asha - I'm channelling my inner Anjie with this card made entirely from a design sheet from the über adorable Winston CD. It had all I needed to complete the project. And I also tried my hand at decoupage - a technique I've never attempted before. My CASE inspiration made it's debut in September last year PD challenge #39. I finished my project with some blue ribbon and few droppings of liquid pearls.

Leah - I am using Anita's lovely card from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge as my CASE It inspiration this week.  I love the black and white digital papers and the pop of color in the colored image :)  I used the Dollie Daydream - Ready for Rain digital image and digital papers from the Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk Collection :)  I made her into a twisted easel card and had a lot of fun with it!  Hope to see you again soon on the challenge blog!  You can see more photos and information about this project by clicking my name...it's the link to my blog :)

Karon - I decided to case one of Asha's makes from August last year - you can find it here.  I love the stitching that she always adds to her cards - and loved making the pinwheel background.  All the elements for my card are from the fabulous new Work and Play 8 - Music CD.

Lou: I have cased Anna's beautiful heart card (found here) as it was just the inspiration I needed to make an anniversary card. I have used the Picknix Collection; specifically the "In the Garden" kit. Full details can be found on my blog.

Cheremane - Seeing its so cold outside I looked to Scatty Jan to CASE as she made a fab pop up card back in August when it was nice and warm. I've used the fabulous Work & Play 8 Cd - Music you can also get the Characters as single Digi's which is fab.

Melanie - I've cased the lovely Anna for this card, I adore her layered style and gorgeous attention to detail. I tried to emulate the layout of her lovely make for the recycling challenge back in November, which used the Rose Budd collection in frosty tones of blue and lilac. For this card I went for a more springtime look and feel, using papers from the Picknix collection. I really enjoyed making it!

Don't forget to go take a peek at their teamies cards to see where they got their inspiration from.

Our Tic Tac Toe challenge winners will be announced next Friday.
So, have a look at some past creations on Polkadoodles and get into your craft rooms.

The winners of our last challenge from 2014
Christmas Reds and Blues will be announced at the end of this post.

Now onto this weeks fabulous inspiration from our Design Team.

To enter the challenge you can go HERE!

Don't forget you do not need to use Polka Doodles products to enter our challenges.  But please remember to follow the rules of there ---->

Scatty Jan For my Tic, Tac, Toe I have gone for the middle row - Image , Ribbon and Buttons - The lovely image is Maddie Twirling Curls -I printed her onto the lovely ultimate Graphic and  I have coloured her using Graph'It markers - I have paper pierced her hat using one of the papers from the Baby Boom collection

Ruth:  I've gone for something simple and used the bottom row - Embossing, Buttons and Polka Dots. I found some laser cut hearts (perfect for Valentine's Day!) in my stash when having a tidy up and teamed it with some hot red polka dot paper from Work and Play 5 - Festive Hollybobs.  Everything else is from my stash.

Karon - I decided to use the diagonal for my card - Sentiment, Ribbon, Polka dots.  I used the fabulous Work and Play 7 Collection for this card and just inked around the edges.  This karate girl is is from one of the design sheets and is a pre-coloured digi.

Asha - I made a Valentines's card for my young nieces using the image from the Sugar Birdies CD and sweet button paper from the Bonbon Belles Double CD. I've also thrown in the following: polka dot ribbon, dotted flower, diecut hearts, embossed heart, buttons and stitching. My design follows the right column (Diecut - Stitching - Polka Dots) or the middle column (Image - Ribbon - Buttons) or the bottom row ( Embossing - Buttons - Polka Dots) or the middle row (More Than 2 Layers - Ribbon - Stitching) or the bottom left to top right diagonal (Embossing - Ribbon - Diecut). Decisions ... decisions!

Jane - Really couldn't wait to get started as a new Design Team member and therefore here is my creation for this latest challenge.  I used the wonderful Amelia with Basket digi.

Anna This time I made a card in shades of violet for a Name Day, which as it turns out, is celebrated only in Poland. I prepared the card with paper from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting Collection , using left row : Sentiment, More than 2 layers, Embossing or  the bottom left to top right diagonal row : Embossing, Ribbon, Die cut, or  the bottom row : Embossing, Buttons, Polka Dots. A layered card with die cut accessories, flowers and a string of pearls.

Lou:  I think I may have used more than one line when making my card ... well I just needed to make sure ...! I have used the line "sentiment, more than 2 layers, embossing". I have used Drummer Troy clear rubber stamp (now sold out) on my card, although he is available as a digi download and also can be found on the Work and Play 1 CD

Cheremane - Hi everyone and New Year Wishes to you all. For this challenge I went with straight down the middle of the grid, Image,Ribbon,Buttons. I have decided to use the Brand New
Work & Play 8 Cd. Wow wow its jammed packed and a major must and I couldn't wait to use it. I have used the Violin Girl which also comes as a Digi just on her own, I also used three of the papers and one of the sentiments from the CD. Be sure to take a look at the

Absolutely stunning creations!

Week 1 - Tic Tac Toe -Polkadoodles Challenge

We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all
A Happy New Year

Our first Challenge this year is
Tic Tac Toe
Choose any line and away you go....
If you don't understand what you need to do with this challenge just choose a line and show us a make which incorporates ANY of those elements (2 out of 3 is ok)...
You have until Friday 16th January to enter at noon GMT. Just please follow the rules in the sidebar. You don't have to use our products to enter! Our Random Winner will receive a special prize of a full Work and Play collection of their own choice which will be worth over £10!

Sooo let's see what fantastic inspiration the team have created for us..
Bev here, I've opted for the left hand column, I chose the Dottie Goes East CD Rom for my inspiration, there are some beautiful papers on this disc basically I just had a little tweak in my graphics programme added a bit of embossing, ink and glitter and came up with a pretty little card.

Jenny here with my card for the Tic, tac, toe challenge.I have used the diagonal line which has given me Embossing, ribbon and die cut and this is what I've come up with.  I have used one of the fabulous Octavia Digis and taken my backing paper from the Dollie Girl Talk cd , come on over to my blog and I'll tell you what I did.

Anjie  I have chosen the left hand vertical line so my make had to include, a die cut, stitching and polka dots and here is my make.
I have used the Octavia Bird in Hand digi from the store, and she is coloured with my Graph'It markers. The papers I have used are from the fabulous Dollie Daydream Girl Talk collection which is available as a CD or a digital download! The die cut sentiment is from Tattered Lace and the stamped and die cut flowers are from Sizzix. As you can see I chose to use faux stitching on this make.

Claire C I've managed a 'full house' and used all the elements in my card, I think I got a bit carried away lol.

I've used one of the gorgeous images from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting Collection, coloured with Graph'It markers. The cute little ticket sentiments are from Work and Play Collection 3. I have to confess I've forgotten which cd the papers are from as whenever Nikky comes up with a new collection I always have a printing frenzy so my new years resolution is to use some of it up!!

Yvonne - Hi there, for my line, I went diaganol from left to right, which was Sentiment, Ribbon and Polka dots. I also managed a die cut and some dry embossing!

I opted to use the beautiful Rose Budd Collection which you can get as a CD-Rom or download as a complete digi collection.  I picked one of the papers that has swirls and polka dots on it, the sentiment is from the same collection. I added a little bit of lace and some polka dot ribbon.  I die cut the sentiment using a Spellbinder die and went over it with a pink pan pastel.  I added some flowers and pearls to finish off.

Susan - well its lovely to be back after the festive holidays ,hope your all well and ready to start crafting .For the Polkadoodle challenge Tick Tack Toe I have used - Sentiment ,Die cuts ,More than 2 ,Ribbons ,Button , Polkadots and an Image from Fredericka CD
I also got a bit carried away and didn't know when to stop
Anita hi everyone happy new year to all ...  Today I have used the vertical middle line of the tic tac toe challenge I have used piper with bunches available as a digi stamp and the backing paper is from pretty sweet papers cd rom

Frezja - hello :) I did my card using the line : more than 2 layers, ribbon, stitching faux :))
I love the roses..... so Rose Budd Collection  is perfect for me :)

Stunning creations this week and lots of inspiration for our
Tic Tac Toe
